KCBQ has gotten worse.
We have established the poor programming, the re-run traffic reports, and the one day old news reports. Now let's talk about
illiteracy. My view is if you are a newsreporter, you should also listen or watch the news so as to learn proper pronunciation of people, places, or things.
I am going to guess that KCBQs newspeople are illiterate.
There was a troubling sign last year: A Mark Larson favorite was Arianna Ortiz, who could'nt pronounce a foreign name if her life depended on it.
Witness Ms. Ortiz's breathless excitement as she informed the listeners of the earthquake in Oak-a-till-uh Wells, or the traffic accident at Fuh-liss-uh-tuh
Lane.
But I was stunned last week on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday, Judy Gale told us about the Junior Say-O death. On Thursday morning, during the Mark Larson show, Alan Lee also updated us on the tragic Junior Say-O death. And then at the 1pm hour on Friday, Suzy what's her name gave us another full update on the Junior Say-O death.
There are some college radio stations in town that have competent news folks, and I think they would love the chance to be on a so-called established radio station. Hopefully Mark might give them a chance but with his problems it ain't going to happen. Besides, with Chris Cahrmichael still stroking him with cutesy folksey blogs about how only Mark Larson cares, Mark probably has gone blind
