KCOR now KXTN (AM)

If the trend is AM to the FM band than why hasn't iHeart started simulcasting WOAI on 104.5? The AM is currently rated #7. I figured once KTSA made the move they would be right behind. Just the idea of Spurs on FM would be a plus.

The issue is that WOAI is around 14th to 15th in 25-54 (using multi book averages). That raises the question of whether the format is aging because it is on AM or because those under 55 just won't listen on AM or FM.

KTSA, with a very partial coverage FM translator (less than 40% of the market with a really usable signal), is around 25th in 25-54 so I don't see the great benefit.

The main reason I mention putting WOAI on 104.5 is I can't think of another format that we either don't have or don't need.

This also depends on Univision executes the new format on 107.5. If station leans to far Hip Hop, then it will have the same fate as Yo 95.1. A true Rhythmic A/C format should include a few currents with plenty of "San Antonio hits" from 80s, 90s and 2000s.

I am currently out of the city so I haven't had a chance to sample the new format but what I've read on social media. It's almost a carbon copy of the Yo. I hope this isn't true.

I kind of said the same thing yesterday when I tuned in the evening, I was like Yo is back but on a different dial and if this didn’t work the first time why is Univision trying this again. I wonder if they will be bringing back freestyle friday’s, also I wonder when the station will be available to stream on TuneIn? So far I still get the Tejano feed.

Agreed on FM Spurs, I used to listen to our local team on 105.7 back when it was WOAI's retransmitter.

Disappointing.
I'm sure there will be some tweaking in the coming days. If not, G103.3 just needs to ride out the next couple of months and they will be fine. This also leave the door open for 104.5.

People are petitioning that they want Tejano back on 107.5, lol they are mad.

LOL not a big Tejano fan but I do like Vibe's new style of format.

I'm upset, not the fact that tejano isn't on 107.5 anymore, but out of all the formats out there in the radio world, why another rap station for San Antonio?

Who knows? Maybe Vibe will kick G out and put alternative back on 103.3....or not.

This is a rhythmic gold based AC format; KZEP was a throwback format. Beyoncé vs. Notorious B.I.G.

Unfortunately, Vibe 107.5 has the Yo! 95.1 flavor. Notorious B.I.G along with many other deep Hip Hop artist are on the playlist. And this sounds nothing like 102.7 KTFM, as was said in the press release.

I believe that only worked once, when KISS flipped to oldies.

And the petition had nothing to do with KISS flipping back to rock. Adams filed Chapter 11, and KISS had been hemorrhaging red ink the entire time it owned it. The rock format declined badly after Adams bought it from Capitol, and oldies only performed slightly better. Rusk took KISS over in one of the first LMA's and flipped its format to get it out of competition with KSMG.
