KCRA/KQCA

Has anyone noticed what a poor news product KCRA/KQCA is putting out on the weekends? It was JUST HORRIBLE last night at 10 on KQCA...wrong camera, mic not on etc. And Chris Riva (I hope I got his name right) seems to be like a deer in the headlights all the way through the cast.

No wonder KOVR is leading at 10...

You're not the only one that noticed. I thought Riva was going to just come out and say, "OK I know I'm new but can we get SOME direction here?" Market 29? It's the same throughout the week, if you look closely.

Sounds like KRON4.

They won't be leading at 10 for long -- KOVR's 10pm newscast is going away in September.

In any case, it seems like the KCRA/WB58 crew is trying to do more than they're able, and perhaps in a style (faster-paced and "hip") they're not used to. It certainly has made the product suffer.

I'm sure Chris Riva is a nice guy -- but did he ever anchor anywhere else prior to his arrival here?
