OH MY GOD!! What kind of a dumb-ass leaves a solid, stable Operations Manager job with WestWood One to go work on a Morning Show for a losing station with horrible ratings??!! [EDIT] J.R. won't be here for long because as soon as the old man dies, I guarantee he'll be gone...and so will Mary. Or as soon as another Marci comes along, someone way hotter & younger than Mary...Mary will be left with no job.

Perhaps someone with Mary's silly decision-making skills deserves to work for an uprofessional loser like Chuck Artigue. I know someone who recently interviewed with him, and during the course of the interview, he revealed the salaries of on-air personalities, how much money he makes, how self-absorbed he is, spoke disparingly about his current on-air staff, and told various lies.

Good luck, Mary...it is YOU who will have your hands full.

How dare you question another persons decision to change jobs, based on your biased opinion
of the station.

Dislike the station all you want, your choice, but leave your bias against it out of your opinion of Mary's decision.

Yeah, congrats Mary. What an opportunity. Co-hosting a morning show vrs reading traffic? I can't think of a better step up.

And Market........even if it turns out to be a bad decision......it would be amazing to go through a career in radio making job decisions correctly 100% of the time. We've all taken jobs we regret. But taking chances is one of the things that makes radio exciting
 
I had the pleasure of working with Mary about 10 years ago and I've kept in touch with her ever since. I'll tell you this...she is a VERY intelligent person and she's also a very talented jock. Mary is a family driven person so I know any decisions she makes, she makes with them in mind. Mary, you're a perfect fit for KDKB...after all you're a ROCKER chick too! 8)

Intelligent?? Ummm, all that woman ever did at work was go outside, smoke & talk on her cellphone. The group that's in there now is probably doing backflips that they don't have to work for someone with so few managerial skills.

In all fairness, she really does belong back on-air, because she truly is an unskilled manager.

But I do agree with Market that all she is presently is Chuck Artigue's current bad decision. Has anything worked since Tim & Mark left that he's put into place? No!!!
Because the old man is out-of-touch.

Come on, there has to be more "people" wanting to take a pot shot at a lady who never intentionally hurt anyone in her life, somehow managed to keep Westwood One officials happy for over 13 years according to a previous post, and keep at least 6 employees there I know of over 10 years.
Oh, and she's also done traffic on TV for several years, so despite the fact that she's made more money than most of us, let us count the flaws. But start
by looking in the mirror first.
 
New to the boards yes..... new to radio .. hardly. You people are PATHETIC... and mighty quick to judge !!!! "Back flips that "Someone with so few management skills won't be here any more" Please tell me your kidding... it was like the loss of a family member knowing that she won't be here any more....Question: how many of you that post on these boards are currently working in radio ?? or how many of you are just people with no lives that wish you worked in radio.. have nothing better to do than just sit around and take shots at everyone else. I don't know if KDKB even knows what a gem they just got in her. :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:
 
I have to agree with the previous comment. New to board as well. NOT new to radio. I have known Mary for over fifteen years. She is a professional, and KDKB is lucky to have her!!!
What's with all the hatin' on this board...???

I don't know/haven't heard Mary Stoddard and in the 8 years of living in Phoenix I can count on one hand how many times I've listened to KDKB. So I'm not qualified to give an opinion if Ms. Stoddard moving to mornings is a good idea or not. But it would be that, an OPINION.

I just (lightly) scanned through the Terms of Service and nothing says you have to be employed/have been employed in radio in order to post of this website. Some people like to write like they are/were in the business and yet they don't use their real names. While it's wrong to allege about people, if someone thinks a station is unlistenable or the host/management is out of touch, let them say it.

I always LOVE it when people go anonymously onto these boards and make accusations like this. If you want to accuse anyone of acting like this by all means that's your right. But at least have some shred of class and post with your name and stand behind your allegation.

My point exactly..... if you dont work in the field.. and dont know the people your posting about.. then how can you make an intelligent comment...you can't imagine what a joke machine this board is for the reasons stated above. ::)
 
She was told it wasn't working out anymore, so now she does a Sat. night shift on KUPD.
 
So far most of these opinions have been at the best slanderous at best against Mary. An opinion is just that ..an opinion..
but to sit there and make accusations that have nothing to do with on air work is ridiculous at best.
I have worked at Sandusky, (among other places in and out of Phoenix) and i have my issues with that company as well. But then again, everyone always has issues with wherever they work at or used to work at. I don't care if people give their opinions.. if there educated, adult opinions! But slanderous crap that has nothing to do with radio is the issue I have a problem with on this board. If you say, she wouldn't sound good, tell me why? But her personal life should have nothing to with it, especially if it has no merit on her on air work.
I have looked at this site, and it looks like "radio sucks" everywhere from New York to the west coast. But if you talked to someone twenty years ago, radio sucked! If you talk to some people fifty years from now, it will suck too! But you must love it, otherwise why you here on this board? Every comment on this forum seems to be hatin'. If it starts out with a "congratulations" like this one did, it soon turns into a "hate fest" from people hiding behind a keyboard, who may or may not know the person involved.
I respect a right to have an opinion.... but c'mon...
I don't care if you hide behind a different name.. that is no big deal to me. It just seems that some of the opinions are very "mean spirited", and are more of a personal attack than a proffesional critique.
That is just my opinion.. from the person hiding behind "parma" LOL
 
I worked at KDKB in the late-80's and Artigue was 75 then, how old is he? (BTW He's a dick).
