KDYA 1190 Vallejo

Interesting that KWUN 1480 in Concord used to have slightly different signoffs. In January it was 5:00, November 5:15. Since they had PSA I don't know what the corresponding sunrise times were.

Well a 10-mile difference in location (especially if it's a move to the east or west. as this one is) can easily affect some months' sign-on or sign-off time by 15 minutes. Remember, if the "average" time rounded to the nearest quarter hour is just over the imaginary dividing line (between, say, 5:00PM and 5:15PM), all it takes to move the sign-on or sign-off time by 15 minutes is a one-second change in the average. That's why stations that have separate day and night sites, which are sometimes just a few miles apart, have the times when they switch from day to night or night to day operation calculated separately. Had the FCC not handled the calculations that way, some of those stations could have been forced to sign off one site and then go silent for 15 minutes before being allowed to sign on the other site.

I got this sort of second- (or third-) hand, but KDYA was carrying Oakland A's baseball in Spanish ... but aren't any longer. The games are now being streamed in Spanish only at http://www.losatleticos.com/

I can confim that they did last year, becuase I worked two games for Spanish Beisbol Network and had to call their studios to confirm we were reaching them.

Sorry to hear they're not clearing live in the bay this year.

Last year day games were on KDYA 1190 and the night games were on KDIA 1640. The giants spanish broadcasts are on KIQI 1010/KATD 990 and I think are also on KYNO 1300 in Fresno, atlthough they only carry day games

I know the games were on KDYA and KDIA this year (and last). My point, which I obviously failed to put across correctly, is that KDYA and KDIA are no longer (as of this week) carrying the A's in Spanish over their facilities. The broadcasts are now Internet-only.

Do you have to have the MLB Game day audio package to hear the internet only games? It seems kind of wierd for a station to drop baseball mid season.

No. The games are being streamed at no charge on http://www.losatleticos.com/

Without making a new thread about AM 1190, I just bump this one

Can someone buy KDYA?? I flip it, if they want??

I heard from someone hear in Vallejo that the Mayor as a part of KDYA, I don't know about Local Station

I remember KNBA when the studios was next door to the Arby's and Vallejo Nissan on Sonoma Boulevard before KNBA was demolished during the dot-com boom of the 1990's for an auto parts store there.
