why in the world would he go to CC studios???? arent' they the equivalent of a toe fungus under your nail that just won't go away ???

...funny that you mentioned dutchies.... I think the entire Clear Channel Allentown management team is PA born and raised....I don't know if that qualifies them as dutchies doe? anyway I was an out- of -town Polack when I started at B104 in '91....although I was not born in Poland....my wife does remind me I am obviously the Polish side of the family.

ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TOPIC...I ran into Mike Kelly today( of B104's Kramer & Kelly) at Burger King. I hadn't seen Mike since leaving B104 2 years ago. Our oldest boys are about the same age...and I had both my sons with me. It was great to catch up and talk a little politics,family & of course radio (I've been watching every convention speech for my Public Speaking class).Mike is among that handfull of people I miss from the 4th floor over on Alta Drive ...after having worked there for 15 years. It was funny...I was fired on my wife's birthday and the day I was leaving on vacation.....Mike's going on vacation next week....so I had to bust Mike's chops about it(CC blowing people out before their vacations-it's a national trend).....most stations kill your password and keycode about 10 minutes after you get off the air. I told him to check the website when you get home- if you're still there...you're good. My stuff was gone by 10:03am

Dooood...that's my e-mail...I just dropped the B104 when they fired me.....the toughest thing about being off-air for just over 11 months after 26 years straight is...NO I.T. guy!

Thanks to the one person that cared to post positive. I heard Rick Michaels has some health problems...I hope they are not serious. It certainly never hurt Michaels & laynes' #1 25-54 adult numbers.............I believe Rick was #1 when he got cut...but I don't know the scoop. I never met Rick. I met Samantha several times. very nice in person. B101 is Lucky! how 'bout Ken & Kitty's return?!(who hasn't been fired from Cincy? that was my 6th firing)....never met them either. I met Becca & Malone at Outback a couple years ago...very nice people...Sam's gotta be 6'3"? Very pleasant. I can see why listeners dig them...especially in person...oh and one more I DIDN'T meet: Gene Werely.......saw him in an elevator once..I think.

The c-word...I can't believe I'm gonna mention it on a blog...CONSULTANT...yes..I'm doing that part-time.
and I'm a keynote speaker, humorist and event host.......it's like doing a morning show with no signal, no benefits and no PD.....but there is a demand....it's why I'm still here. And it's the first time in 20+ years I have slept in past 3:30am. I now go to bed later than my 3 and 6 year old. By the way, my 6 year old is the CEO
of my consultancy...young..energetic..great synergy...and he gets the whole internet thing. I haven't figured out a position for my 3-year old yet but he did just poop all by himself on the potty.....and you regional VPs know, that is valuable in any employee.....I'm thinking some kind people position. My wife went back to work part-time. So I have the honor and pleasure of being a part-time soccer dad, part-time Mr. Mom and an
adjunct faculty member at NCC.
anyone who ever heard the B104 morning show from Sept 1991-Sept 8th 2006 I like living here in the Lehigh Valley...that's why I'm still here...I know it's crazy and wacky..cause I only have 8 other states to compare it to...but what can I say......BUT I REFUSE TO SAY YOOZ!

Speaking of LV ratings....how 'bout em?.....there are probably only a hand full of people that read this blog that actually see ALL of them....I know Rick Musselman is one(another guy who uses is name). Somehow...and I think Mussels would agree, The Morning Call doesn't reflect an accurate ratings picture of the market. I'll take last book I had on B104...actually the last two are cool.
I'm sure Rick Michaels is happy with his as well....he and Samantha would often pound most of us on the adult front.

I've enjoyed reading radio.info for the past 11 months( since I got my 7th firing)......someone tipped me off to it......it's always fun trying to figure out who is yocco and taco,pacco, and bittersnitzel, wacky, and smacky...well ..you get the idea......

You would of been good on Q102 (102.1) but you probably would not want to live in philly.

After I saw your post the other day, I went to the www.garyinthemorning.com site, and downloaded the show he was on. Your right, funny as hell, trying to get poor Ken to swear. But Ken is a great talent, and he shows he can work any kind of situation, a credit to his professionalism. He should get an internet gig going, get his voice back out there, I'm sure he could pick up a syndication deal. In this day & age, statioons are looking for quality content on the cheap. Ken would be a natural for this.

And speaking of syndicated shows, don't know why Gary hasn't syndicated his yet either. Seems like he has it on a few other websites to provide content, but he would be a great fit for some of these small, medium market stations that can't afford to pay a jock. They should just contract him out and it would be a major upgrade instantly, and without a huge financial investment. Just my 2 cents, but his show is a helluva lot better than anything I hear in the valley here. Everyone just seems to mail it in anymore, because with all the cutbacks, they seem to run scared of saying anything to lose their jobs.

What a sad industry this has become...
 
I was up at the Clear Channel Allentown studios with Councilman Tony Phillips, the next mayor of Allentown (I'm his campaign manager) and while he was on the air with Bobby Gunther Walsh, Mike Kelly(one of my replacements) gave me a tour of the newly remodeled radio station.

That's a wacky moment. I guess you had to be there.
