KEN MATTHEWS found ALIVE

I was up at the Clear Channel Allentown studios with Councilman Tony Phillips, the next mayor of Allentown (I'm his campaign manager) and while he was on the air with Bobby Gunther Walsh, Mike Kelly(one of my replacements) gave me a tour of the newly remodeled radio station.

That's a wacky moment. I guess you had to be there.

Maybe you should have stuck closer to your candidate, Ken and kept him off of Facebook. No freakin way he wins the Mayor's office now.

I thoroughly disagree. No one in their right mind will vote for that corrupt, Chicago, Marxist who ruined Allenswamp more than it already was. So, Phillips had some fun on FB talking about hooking up or whatever. No one cares. Tony Phillips is Allentown's only chance.

But here's the thing... if he's dumb enough to be set up by an amateur, the seasoned politicians and others who oppose him will have a field day with him and cause one issue after another. I'm with you on Pawlowski and I tend to vote republican, but with the allegations of domestic abuse and now this, Phillips is likely dead in the water.

matthews back in the news. another chance for a pd with a brain to hire him since b104 cut him loose. valley radio is boring and there are too many yocals doing the same ole same ole .

speaking of smiles.

Any listener can tell a genuine smile when they hear it but they can really smell a FAKE smile on the air because it screams the loudest. It's shrill and sounds awkward like fear.

Today I'll be hosting a Trashion Show (recycled clothing out of trash) for the East Penn School District.

They wanted someone who's local radio career was on the trash heap.

Nice gig, Ken. Hope they treat you well at my old alma mater. Sounds like an interesting time that you can have some fun with.

You gotta give props to Ken, who's managed to keep this thread alive by continually posting to it (and not just him - to the others posting to it as well) for TWO YEARS. Shouldn't there be some kind of award for that? Maybe the Lehigh Valley Music Awards can put something together...longest running thread on Radio Info? Anyone? Bueller?

wow. KEEP HOPE ALIVE - Keep Hope Aliiiiive. LOL. NO wonder my spare pairs of AKG's are all covered with dust !

wait wait....nevermind.

a few things and then back to work- TOMORROW IS ELECTION DAY: It Matters.

Also- to the 3 or 4 people that always appear to be in my corner on on this board- THANKS!

That's like half my former audience. Until then you can find me on facebook, twitter, linkedin or panhandling at the corner of 22 and 7th street. I'm heartbroken that the mall kicks ass now and I have no money.

STAY TUNED-

However Ken, if you're looking for an agent, we should talk.

Seriously, sometimes the right answer is right under our noses.

The facts speak for themselves:

1. 16 year morning market leader

2. Was the reason why many LEV morning shows walked the plank during his time at B. The names & teams are too numerous to mention

3. REturn to Lehigh Valley airwaves would be an event. Media coverage on this would be huge.

4. Many who are now in LEV's demo grew up with Ken

5. Who better to help Laura St. James, the new LEV PD take down the old station.

6. Immediate notice by clients. Would certainly help put $$$ on the books immediately.

Again, it's a no brainer.

In this day and age of "ccokie cutter radio" and stations that believe it's all about the music only (see central PA board),
this move would create talk in the market. GREAT PR.

And, 2158 Avenue C has the potential to become "B" East.

Let's see what happens. Finally, some activity in this sleepy market.

About Radio :

" Here is a wide-open field of opportunity screaming its protest at the way it is being butchered because of lack of imagination, and begging for rescue at any price. Above all, the thing radio needs is new ideas ! "
