Kennedy Center Changes

He'll have to first get it built, somehow.
Have you seen the pictures? The project is very significantly advanced. Trump was well known in builders' circles for being able to work with contractors, the unions and the permit people to get things done fast; there is a huge saving on construction financing costs if you can do that.

That's not true. In point of fact, he completely bypassed the normal procedure in getting government buildings done. He is well known in builders' circles for stiffing contractors and unions. He did it in Atlantic City. As for the costs, they keep escalating every time it comes up. It's a complete boondoggle.

IIRC The Kennedy Center is a memorial. I doubt Trump wants a "memorial" because last time I checked there was only one way to have a memorial named after you. I would advise him to take his name off the building immediately and not tempt "karma".

True its another one of these things where a major project is involved Trump wants his name in it even if its a project funded by federal and state government where the project has its own names.

I hope I am wrong, but here's could happen. A couple of days after the 2026 elected Congress is sworn in (Jan 2027), JD Vance and friends invoke the 25th amendment. He finishes the last two years of Trump's term but still get to have 2 full 4 year terms. 10 years!

The 25th Amendment isn't the "easy" button. Trump could still object and say "I'm fine". Then it would take 3/4 of Congress to remove him. Vance is as popular as last night's oatmeal, he won't be the new leader of MAGA.

It depends how many of Trump's choices for Congress get elected. A friend of the family is well connected with the GOP in GA. He says at one time Republican elected officials were afraid of MAGA and Trump* Folks like Kemp and Raffensperger have shown you can survive Trump's meddling in GA politics. IMHO MAGA has no heir apparent. It's a one man con act.

If only half of the folks that lost their "AHCA" heath insurance in GA vote Democratic or don't vote, the Republicans are in trouble on GA.

The math looks bad for the GOP nationwide. 33 Republican Congressmen are not seeking election. I would bet more than a few Republicans will distance themselves from Trump. It's all about them getting reelected. Not the needs of the country. I won't be surprised if the GOP kicks Trump to the side.

* In Pickens County to be on the Republican primary ballot for the local elections you had to go in front of the county GOP board and be "tested" to make sure you were MAGA enough to be "allowed" on the GOP primary ballot.

I was assured the SAVE Act would disenfranchise enough potential Democratic voters to make the GOP a permanent ruling party that can never be voted out.

Bill Maher is about as funny as a school bus crashing into an animal shelter. Mark Twain is rolling over in his grave!
Twain would applaud. He was an acid-penned iconoclast, and so is Maher. Both are very much in the tradition of Thomas Nast, the political cartoonist, and Ambrose Bierce, the author, poet, journalist and writer of savage editorials. I'd put Christopher Hitchens in with them too, except he was pretty much a one-trick pony, a staunch and aggressive critic of religion.
