There's no one locally who comes to mind.
But I have a plan. First, I would shorten the show from two hours to one. Glenn went many years with a one-hour show before expanding to two. The next talent should take baby steps.
Next, I would canvass the local universities for the prof whose classes everyone LOVES to take. The "cool" prof. I'd check SMU, TCU, U. of Dallas, UT-Arlington and North Texas.
Finally, I would see if Ron Chapman would be interested in doing the one-hour shift on Fridays (when he's in town). A Chapman free-for-all. Whatever he wants to do for one hour.
When the great Red Barber retired from baseball play-by-play, NPR tapped him as a contributor to Morning Edition. I think Chapman could carry on that tradition on the Dallas level.
