KFAA will be the broadcast home for Dallas Wings games

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems the local basketball teams understand that OTA is the best way to get your product out to the masses and get the most eyes. The local baseball team gets it, but as for the local hockey team...bad move coach. But then again only 22,000 people in the Metroplex care about the NHL.

Of note is that Houston is among the markets that will carry the Wings games. There has been much talk about Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta buying a WNBA expansion franchise and reviving the Comets brand. Any such future team would wind up on the Space City Home Network RSN, unless the Rockets and Astros decide to radically change their distribution model.

KFAA is an independent sister station to WFAA on channel 29, formerly KMPX.

That's the first time I ever heard of a W-call letter station west of the Mississippi (there have been K-call letter stations east of it) having a K-equivalent in the same area (and also, far as I recall, there has never been a W-equivalent to a K-letter station that has been east of the Mississippi [IOW, no WYW to KYW, that is]).

Allow me to introduce you to WSUI in Iowa City and its longtime FM sister, KSUI...
