KFI 640 New Studios

He could also do an off-air hour berating the engineers, office staff and anyone else who wandered by.

I have dealt with several #1 morning guys in LA who were also un-fun to manage. It must be the effects of the air pollution in the Southland. I'll have to ask Tina Delgado...
Morgan was in his own league. When they moved KRTH from Venice to Wilshire, an engineer posted a picture of the button labeled “Morgan intercom” and the caption “It’s a long cable run to hell.”

RWM is one of my heroes I think I’m glad to have not met.

I don’t know if anyone else got the reference to The Real Don Steele, but I did and I appreciate it! He left us way too soon and was a very entertaining DJ. Of course, I only heard him on K-EARTH 101 doing drive-time in the mid 90’s, but he was great!

The KFI move is weird. Not leaving the building next year, just moving to the opposite side of it, according to Michele Kube on Facebook.
Okay, that must be what all the hosts were referencing last week when they said they were doing a small move now and then doing a bigger move next year. It is weird!

He was. And you only heard him doing three or four breaks an hour. You should find some air checks (they're all over the web) off his days at KHJ (1965-73), KIQQ (1974), KTNQ (1977-78) and KRLA (1985-1989). Steele didn't really age, but the earlier you go, the more you get of him, with content over the intro to every record.

Spell checker gone wild.

The only worse spell-check correction I know was Microsoft Word in the 90's when it would take group operator "Beasley" and change it to "Beastly".
Autocorrect strikes again! 🤣

TRDS Had a good run too long before he arrived at 93 KHJ. Starting with KBUC Corona, CA.
