Got up early this morning to check the dials after stringing out the winter wire through the woods last night. My MW DX season has started! I was looking for westerly stations and immediately struck gold when I tuned to 640 as I've done numerous times in the past. There it was - KFI booming in with at least three IDs all within a minute, dominating everything else on 640 for a brief period of time. This was at 7am EST. Of course this was the one time I wasn't recording. I haven't heard KFI here since the late 80s and it's especially tough now in modern times thanks to WMFN in nearby Zeeland, MI. Reception didn't last long and was soon replaced by WWLS, an 814 mile catch. KFI is 1823 miles. I need to get up early more often
