Much more likely, in my opinion, is the loss of Bobby Ocean in afternoon drive...shown the door after giving them one of the best books in decades.
Talent matters...audiences...especially discriminating ones like those in the Bay Area...will tune in for top talent.

Thanks Michael at least some of us get what makes any radio station successful and that is "Consistancy" Want proof? Just look at the success of KGO-AM 810
over the years and how many stations putting talk radio on to even dent their
ratings even a little bit. And still they remain at the top. And Mr. Ocean is one of the best there is in the business. Radio's value to the mass audience has
peaked and it will never be the same!!!!

I didn't find the comment snide or unfunny, that's why.

CC is not known for flipping AMs they own to Oldies. That does not mean someone else in the market wouldn't, though.

They will flip them to something when all this crap they've got on now blows up in their faces and it will! It is just a matter of time! No Brag Just Fact!!!
And as I have said already I will have the last laugh!!!! They are already looking for a new PD for both stations and a new broom sweeps clean!!!!!

Read the ad...They're looking to hire a TALK PD..let me repeat that..a TALK PD....so don't look for for any big changes to CC's 2 talkers. I doubt Savage is going anywhere and with all the Al Franken billboards up, he isn't going anywhere either.

Because of bad ratings KFRC hired Terry Patrick to help the ailing station. You'll hear changes soon! If not already! It will be interesting how they try to turn this around!
Hi Bob,Good to see your name around here. Rick Shaw had nice things to say about you right before he passed away. Tom

From laradio.com, Infinity sister station K-Earth in LA -once inferior to KFRC - is doing some interesting things under their new PD, Jhani Kaye. From what I read, they've been expanding the playlist and moving jocks around. I haven't heard how they sound (they don't stream, and I haven't been to LA in a couple of years). Of course, Infinity already has a Jack formatted station in LA, so there will be no move to "jack" KRTH. Perhaps some of this improvement will rub off on KFRC. The concept of transitioning "Oldies" to a mix of 60s through the 80s is a sound idea. The problem with KFRC has been that the exection of the concept has sucked. For one thing, there are way too many soft rock 70s hits by one or 2 hit wonder bands. If you remember, when the change happened, they announced publicly that their target was KOIT. That obviously didn't work, and they seem to have been slowly evolving away from that, but not fast enough, obviously.
