Tyler-Longview is too small a market to support 3 full blown network affiliates with news, let alone 4. The new owner of KFXK will soon find this out. Bottom line: don't be surprised if both stations wind up back in bankruptcy within the next 5 years.

News hasn't ever worked on 51. It's just not a news station. There's nothing wrong with that. When I was there, we did just fine with sitcoms and shows like Baywatch, Renegade, and others. I just don't see this time being any different.

51 needs to give up before it even gets out of the starting gate.....They'll never make it. You think the last time would have taught them a lesson....

tested said:Considering how eaten up the Tyler market is from the east and west with Shreveport and Dallas, it seems to me Fox could just do without an affiliate and probably wouldn't lose too many viewers. To me, that would be the biggest fear for the folk at KFXK.
