Actually, I was being facetious with that suggestion.
More realistic is the idea of putting KGIL's programming on 540. Of course, that won't help the commuter who complained that he can't hear 1260 on his commute between Seal Beach and Montebello. 540 hardly comes in at all in that region. In fact, I would say Saul has a real AM coverage hole throughout much of the South Bay.
"Them's the breaks" because he bought a radio station that was meant to primarily serve the San Fernando Valley. It was licensed to the city of San Fernando and the pattern also favored most of the Santa Clarity Valley. When it was upgraded in power it still has the same limitations, just more signal in the same areas as before.
In any event it is nice to have Michael Jackson back, I had nearly forgotten what a good interviewer he is. Also nice to have a Michael Jackson who is not a freak in the news. As I and others have previously discussed, there may be issues with the syndicated shows going on 540, especially as I understand Neal Boortz, who is already on in San Diego. Maybe drop "The Zoo" and put the Adult Standards back on surrounding MJ.
Too bad they can't get together a little regional net for Mr. Jackson, using some of the other pattern challenged AM's in this region. He would have been good for KTLK but I'm sure that he is too old for their consideration and anyway they are somewhat directionally hampered though much better in LA and the "South beach" areas.
