To the national company doing this, yes. Lots of potential for national advertising in radio: Truck stops are now mostly chains. As are diners, gas stations, and motels.
I'm actually surprised that companies such as Motel 6 haven't had a national late night network radio campaign. Bob Crane of C Crane built his business from nothing into a major contender by buying all those late night throwaway avails on the high powered local stations. Then he went national, buying time on ABC Radio network news, etc.
Check this aircheck from WEMP-FM (all Tabloid and Gossip) in NYC they are way worse than KGO-AM.
At least KGO has an advantage they got Jeffery Schuab from KCBS and KPIX on board with them and John Kessler. But I know Finch and Kessler does not fit in with KGO as they want to be.
