Still baffling they wouldn't try and make a little back by selling the license on the way out.
I just saw that too. 16 watts from a 4 bay antenna on the tower on the school property, site of the original license in 1982. The old antenna and transmission line was left in place so it was probably pretty easy to fire it up again. Contour is completely within the contour of the 250 watt license from the American Tower site.KGRG-FM just filed a "RESUME SERVICE" notice:
Notice of Resumption of Operations
KGRG-FM Auburn, WA
June 2025
On June 1, 2025, KGRG-FM resumed on-air operation with the technical facility authorized by
Engineering STA 0000271730.
KASB? KNHC? WSU for KVTI?Should I contact KSER? Anything but another religious station...

I wasn't referring to the translator K207AP, which remains licensed and silent. I was referring to the contour of the main KGRG signal on 89.9 MHz. They refrence it in the Engineering STA Request:Since KGRG-FM is in the reserved band as a non-commercial, the contour of the translator is not a factor.

I did send an email to KEXP and received a reply that they weren't interested in picking this one up. Should I contact KSER? Anything but another religious station...
I get that KGRG is "out of market" for a Snohomish County based opertation but I just want to keep it out of the hands of Air 1 or whatever. It's probably a better fit for the NWPR "NPR News" service if it can be put back on the American Tower site where it was. 250 watts, set it to mono to keep the multipath down and away you go.So, I happen to be the current president for the KSER/KXIR Foundation board of directors, and we've got enough on our plate already. We're about to publicly name a new GM, as Tom Clendening recently retired from that role after 13 years at the helm. We've got lots of work to do to shore up awareness of our station and revenue from donations, grants, etc., in what's become an uncertain economic time, along with some other priorities that have been on the back burner in recent years. Picking up a signal down in south King County probably wouldn't be included in those priorities as we try to strengthen our presence up here in Snohomish and Island counties.
As a radio hobbyist in my free time, I'm happy to see KGRG back on the air, but it's probably not something KSER can handle right now.

Not sure right now is a great time to judge signals. Lots of atmospheric ducting due to nice warm days with little air movement; I have been picking up all kinds of signals that "should not be there" the last few days. I doubt very much that KXIR and KSER are out of spec.I think KXIR and KSER are broadcasting with higher power than they are supposed to. KXIR actually interferes with KGRG in some areas and I was picking up KSER crystal clear in Buckley. No way should be able to pick up both stations way in NE Pierce County and KXIR is causing interference with KGRG in Buckley also.
It seems strange to fire up their transmitter at Green River College just to shut it down for good. Perhaps they were testing it just to see if it was functional. If the license is for sale, it definitely won’t include the transmission site at the school itself.KGRG is off the air again. I wonder if they are going to return back on or sign off for good.
