I will if I win the lotto tonight ;D

Good luck jras, the winning numbers are pinned up on my corkboard. :p

They are NOT!

It would be cool to win the lottery. Bet none of you did though. And we saved a few dollars not buying tickets.

If I won the huge Mega Millions I would buy all of BMP's stations, swap two with Cox, and bring the following to San Antonio, Oldies, Urban Oldies, Dance Oldies, and an Urban Adult Hits station known as City FM "We play your favorites" and yes KHHL would be in the swap ;D Of course I would buy the call letters KITY from the Kity/Kody people and call City 106.7 as KITY.

I didn't even hit one number :( I guess KHHL will still be on the air broadcasting nothing.

I didn't do much better, jras. I matched the powerball of 23. That's all. Mind numbing job, see you Monday. :'(

Is the station for SALE? If not, based on everything I've read here, they need to SELL it. It appears every format has set SAIL.

Yes it is for sale. The last time I spoke to Richard Armstrong who is the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for BMP Radio he said they wanted between $650 to $700K cash (they can't do any type of financing terms due to the liquidation process from the lenders). But at the same time he said they wouldn't turn down a serious cash offer between $400-$500K either. So if someone really wanted that station and they had at least $400K in cash I'm sure they could buy it off them. Heck as much as they neglect that station I'm sure they'd take $300K lol

I hit one number, and have played 2 sets one made up by me, the other a Quick pick, and Quick picks I never never get one number.

The winner turned out to be in Maryland, I still think it was rigged to let some government employee win. I mean the state of Maryland where our Social Security Administration is located? We will of course, never know. But I glad I gave a student somewhere a free pencil and eraser even though it was made in China. That is assuming they do with Mega Millions like the Texas Lottery give some small amount (not as much as promised) to our schools. I was already drawing up the KHHL swap in my head with the new City 106.7! $4 that have could have bought 4 items on the dollar menu at Mickey D's a couple of years ago. The irony is I had the first song for City 106.7 Mr. Wendal by Arrested Development, and you would be hearing static full classic rock on 103.1 ;D

Slightly more than half of lottery winners take quick picks. However, you really have almost no chance of winning regardless of which method you use!

Actually, we will know because lottery winners' names are public information if they win above a certain amount of money. That amount varies from state-to-state, but this jackpot will be above that threshold everywhere. If you won the lottery and had the foresight to set up a trust to receive the money before claiming it, you could obscure your name from the public view a little bit. However, the identities of trustees and executors are public information in many states.

Most state lottery associations will also only award a big prize like this on TV, and the winner must appear in person to claim the award. When I worked in radio, we got regular press releases from the lottery announcing big claims. Once, I remember being quite surprised to find a co-worker at my other job hit a $250,000 jackpot on Powerball. His nickname around work was "Chi," and we called him "Cha-Ching" after that! I also found out the same way that a couple of my friends who worked at a Mexican restaurant were part of a lottery pool and got to split a $100,000 jackpot. It amounted to about $10,000 per person.

By the way, there were two additional winning tickets sold, one in Illinois just across the river from St. Louis and another one somewhere in northeastern Kansas. I figure the one from Kansas was sold to basketball coach Bill Self given his team's improbable run to the NCAA championship game!

By the way, I read another article on the lottery earlier today, and you're right. The laws of Maryland and Kansas have been changed in the last few years, and both states have since stopped publishing the names of their lottery winners. So, it's possible we won't know who got the winning tickets in Kansas and Maryland, though Illinois still requires its lottery to identify its winners.

And Illinois won't let you record your interactions with the police, Maryland has as strick privacy laws like in California. But the POTUS could change that in Illinois via Executive Order. Who knows their Uncle or Aunt might work for the Goverment. Anyone who wins the lotto can give it to someone else and have them send in the claims. I don't think it is illegal to give your lotto ticket as a birthday present as long as they are 18 or over, (21 in some states.) If someone knows those winners, this suggestion of buying KHHL should be a topic of discussion, and of course, if they plan on doing any hiring (depending on the format they choose.) But since San Antonio is not one of the top wealthy cities, I don't think it will happen. I will play again in May and donate my 20 cents of each dollar to our schools.

I don't know why Richard Armstrong would have any idea about it, he hasn't worked there in years !!!

Well when I spoke to him about 103.1 it was back in 2009 when the lenders had seized BMP
