KHYI

BIG CHANGE

KHYI is looking for a new "warm body" to keep our website up-to-date.

Sorry, I couldn't resist! ;D

Speaking of... whatever happened to KLUV's feeble attempt at Fab 4 format? Jody Deen not enough to carry that fun demo?

What happened to Nadine? Wasn't she doing the morning show at KHYI?

I heard Natalie left the station, I don't know about Nadine

Does Nadine still carry around that rodent with her at all times? It's some kind of flying squirrel. I am totally not being funny.

Nadine had enough of Ken Jone's Chili and has moved to either Flatonia or Schulengberg( towns located between SA and Houston). She is reportedly doing independent voice work.
KHYI is now evolving into a "revolving " door of Pd's and Morning show hosts.

Oh now there is earth shattering news of tremendous importance. Almost as important as when KLUV announced a Beatles HD-2 channel they already had on the air for months.

I was being more satirical than critical. Wow - I bet you folks are rejoicing the death of KXEZ! What a boost that probably gave you in the NE part of the area!

I am not a huge fan of low bitrate HD-2 and 3 channels. For the most part to me, Beatles = burnout. 220 songs approximately, and after the 100th time they begin to wear out. Which is why I really like KLUV shifting more towards 60's and 70's. Just - don't throw out the good stuff from the 50's and early 60's. The best of them can and do acquire new fans as more people hear them for the first time. That was KXEZ's strong point, and probably what made you a bit vulnerable.

That's sad for Dallas. She's a great talent and a nice person on top of that!

Bruce, KXEZ was never a factor. I do agree with you about the low bitrate on HD-2. While HD-1 sounds pretty good, HD-2 sounds like XM....:)

I disagree John. The "60's" on 6 on XM sound very very good. I now rely on them for my "oldies" fix. KXEZ wasn't too bad in their selection, though their audio was not great. They have joined many stations in my "Delete" the preset pile. KLUV's audio is great if you can past the heavy spot load, very short playlist and repetiton, but alas we discussed this before.

...still doesn't negate the other three...besides, many have come and gone over the past 23 years. And, as you well know, there's always plenty of competition for persons 25-54. That said, that kind of longevity also involves a little luck at times, and that's OK too. :)

Yeah had come and gone, and KODZ had a chance ,only the owners were impatient and their promotions dept.was not well funded.
Now if Tyler's KDOK were heard here,KLUV would be taking a nose dive.

I disagree John. The three I mentioned are NOT why you are still, here. The other posters comment "no competition" is more solid spot on reason. I commend you however for being loyal to KLUV,but I wish you would lengthen the play list and rotation. You would probably have more listeners, and damn the research with predictable responses.
