Craig and Jill just don't fit in.

Looks like you'll be happy - at least for a few more days. The B team (as Kristin referred to it) kept saying they would be doing the show for the week. By the end of the week, they gave the impression that Craig wouldn't be back for a few MORE days. What could be going on with this morning show? Do you think the folks at Kicks realized their new producer girl could do a better show than Craig? I'm staying tuned - at least for this week. It could get interesting!

Regarding the chemistry between Kristin and Jim - She's got to be in her twenties and Jim has got to be what, fifty? And you are right, they do flow really well together - despite the age difference.

Jim Vann is the unsung superstar of Atlanta country radio in the last 15 years. He was excellent as Moby's foil and has a great voice that he can use a lot of different ways. Very fast on the uptake.

Why Craig is out.

His absence has nothing to do with anyone's performance (or lack there of) on the show. Craig's father has been very sick so he has been by his side helping take care of him. The length of his time away is unknown, but is most likely directly related to how well (or not well) his father's progress is coming along.

Are you people living in a fantasy world? There is no way that the General Manager and the PD are going to admit after less than six months that they made a poor choice AGAIN for morning drive personality. Sometimes, I think that they put names in a hat and just draw one. I don't think that they care if they put out a superior product, but are much more driven by holding down payroll costs. They just don't want to be in the situation they had with Moby, when he was getting paid high six figures and pretty much did what he wanted. Sure, he got an CMA award for best morning show, but so what? KICKS doesn't have any competition in this market for country fans....why should they pay the big money to get a really great morning guy? Mediocre is good enough, and they save hundreds of thousands that way.

The facts are smacking them in the face, but now we're talking about saving face.

Jill and Kristin have voices almost identical in timbre and tone, so most of the time, I can't tell which of them is talking...that is, until I hear WHAT they're saying. Actually, Kristin makes Jill better....when Jill is interacting with Kristin and Jim, she's not tittering and fawning on Craig.
I've written about Vann a lot in this forum, and will do so again. Vann is one of the greatest that have ever been at that station. The old saying about genius being rewarded has never been as untrue as with Jim Vann. KICKS management is NEVER going to reward Jim like he deserves.

The KICKS morning show flows better without Cornett. Kristen & Jim sound relaxed and confident..like they've been together for years.

When Jill talks, she sounds so much like Kristen, I have to do a double listen. Then when I hear the content, I know it's not Kristen.

Granted, it's been less than six months, but, with Cornett out, KICKS management must realize they have a problem with their morning show. Jill and Craig sound like they're interrupting, rather than contibuting.

Maybe it's time radio stations wake up and realize they shouldn't offer long term contracts to "new hires". It gives both parties time to adjust and re-evaluate.

I agree. I've been listening closely for the last week. I think even Kristen is aware that people think Jill sounds like her. Whenever she turns to Jill for something she makes a point of saying her name first. It is obvious Kristen is on the board. How many other females are pushing the buttons in this market? Anybody know? Shouldn't matter - but I'm curious.
