Well...the (C)BS bean counters strike again. :mad:

On the KZON website, if there was a morning show page tab
it has been removed, and/or if it was a link in the "on air" tab
that also has been deleted, however I did find it via a Google
search as a backdoor URL:

The page has postings from this morning, so it appears the
KZON jocks were given the "Bill Gardner treatment" from the
local (C)BS suits--finished today's show and got bounced.

I checked both the KOOL and KMLE websites and it appears
the jock listings on both are unchanged, but one wonders if
there were any other cuts in the cluster...?
 
I was right i said kid and ruben made the wrong decision to go there but i was wrong also i thought it would be once kzon flipped well just a matter of time for the second part but not in the near future but they will flip again!!!

I wish the guys well and good luck may the radio gods be kind to you!!!

Well it is time for Kid to get back to KTAR. Lets move Ankarlo to am drive and plug kid in middays or vica versa. He deserves to be on talk radio.
 
That is too bad for Kid and Ruben. They lasted 14 months. I remember all the hype that KZON had around them a few months after they first signed on and announced they would be bringing back the "Hometown Homeboy's" to morning radio again. Indeed, very sad to see. As far as replacements go, I would love to see the return of MG's Morning Madhouse. I was big fans of theirs back when they were on Power. Rounding up MG, Danielle, and Gringo Suave together again would be a nice change. I heard that Gringo Suave, although he is under a different name now, was released from a radio station up in northern California. Maybe he would be interested in making a return to the valley? I gurantee people would remember this show and definately give it a chance if it is in fact an option of having them all return.
 
I'm not a KZON listener but, as with other local stations, when they begin cutting major talent loose it seems it is the beginning of the end.

I suspect forthcoming events might consist of a sale or two, format flips and other acts of desperation before the lamps go out all over Phoenix. Confirms my opinion of the current owners as C(BS).

Girngo Suave is now known as Joe Breezy and has just landed the night gig at 107.9 The End in Sacramento. Why do you think he would come back to Phoenix?
 
Guess how I heard about this? Switching stations and got to Power 98.3. They actually have commercial saying "What's the difference between Kid & Ruben and Lady La? Lady La has a job!"

Very surprised to see 'Valley Legends' Kid & Ruben fired. Not sure where they will go as a team so they might have to split up again. I think it's tough for 30+ males to talk about hip-hop music. Yet, KZON wasn't a true hip-hop station.

And I'm not sure, but didn't Corina quit her gig in San Antonio just to join the show?
 
Yes, that's true. Da Nutz and Power 98 have had that playing all weekend, laughing and making fun of Kid and Ruben for losing their jobs. It's posted on Powers Myspace page as well. Ruben just lost 3 family members in a car crash not too long ago, and they see it in good taste to throw it in his face that he has lost his job now too. Have some class Power. If that's not bad karma, I don't know what is... :(
 
That is sad, but they kinda brought the promo on themselves because I was listening to them on Thursday, I think, and tehy said "what is the difference between Lady La and a mosquito?, La doesnt stop sucking when you smack her"

Anytime one of our own loses a job, it is sad for all of us.
The problem I see with the promo battle situation, is that it leaves out an important group of people..
the listeners. I don't think they care to hear that on the air..and it becomes just a personal battle
between the two morning shows. That also is sad. And that could be adding to the reason radio
is losing listeners. Just my 10 cents worth[/i](adjusted for inflation)

I have to completly agree with you but it was not just a battle between morning radio.. it was one of the listeners that sent the joke in.. that was part of their routine theey wanted to get the listeners involved!!
 
I am sorry to see them go they make a good team, I've been waiting for them to post a blog somewhere to find out what really happened, but I haven't found anything

that mested up to take a morning show so personal, people being with out a job isn't funny, It wasn't to long ago everyone at 98.3 was almost with out a job. A little competition between morning shows is fun, but there is a limit when you start getting disrespectful:-[

a reliable source told me that MG was offered a morning gig in California (i think it was Palm Springs or something) and turned it down because he had "something brewing in AZ" I'm sure him and the old team have been in talks to making a return to the Valley. Seems like Jamz would be a perfect fit...
 
Cmon people jamz will be going away if they weren't they would not gotten rid of kid and ruben and they are not gonna invest any more money in big name talent use some common sense.
 
Liveradiodude, I hope you are right. That would be exciting if MG did make a return to morning radio. I thought he had one of the most entertaining morning shows when he was on Power. I have been hearing little promo's on Jamz talking about "Who will Jamz' new morning show be?" They keep telling everybody to stay tuned. So, I'm sure they have something in the works and hopefully it won't be too much longer before we all find out.
