CBS radio are baffoons they had no business cutting kid and rubin loose if they were gonna keep the format. Why bring in a new morning after only a bit over a year with this morning show???Makes no sense!!! There must be something else going on here that cbs is not telling us and i wonder what it is???

That is sad, but they kinda brought the promo on themselves because I was listening to them on Thursday, I think, and tehy said "what is the difference between Lady La and a mosquito?, La doesnt stop sucking when you smack her"

This is not true. A listener sent in a joke and they read what the question was. They did not even read the answer on air.
There is no excuse for the promo that Power played. Cracking jokes about peoples lives and people losing their jobs is frowned upon in this industry.

Then tell me why after only 15 months or so is kzon lettinn a well established morning show in phoenix go and replacing it with another after spending all that money getting them and promoting them???They are foolish people at cbs phoenix.CBS phoenix are pretty incompetent people and they make clear channel look like geniuses!!! KZON will suffer big time and they deserve it!!!

I heard on JJ&R on friday that Carrie (gossip girl) was approached by KZON in grabbing her for mornings but she was not going for it. She is flying out to NYC to interview maybe for a job on WBLI I think they said. CBS is dumb but if this is not the beginning of the end for Jamz then they are just stupid. No morning show but airshifts the rest of the day. DUMB

That is too bad for Kid and Ruben. They lasted 14 months. I remember all the hype that KZON had around them a few months after they first signed on and announced they would be bringing back the "Hometown Homeboy's" to morning radio again. Indeed, very sad to see. As far as replacements go, I would love to see the return of MG's Morning Madhouse. I was big fans of theirs back when they were on Power. Rounding up MG, Danielle, and Gringo Suave together again would be a nice change. I heard that Gringo Suave, although he is under a different name now, was released from a radio station up in northern California. Maybe he would be interested in making a return to the valley? I gurantee people would remember this show and definately give it a chance if it is in fact an option of having them all return.

a reliable source told me that MG was offered a morning gig in California (i think it was Palm Springs or something) and turned it down because he had "something brewing in AZ" I'm sure him and the old team have been in talks to making a return to the Valley. Seems like Jamz would be a perfect fit...

makes sense because MG is still up for grabs, Danielle is doing weekends at Mega and the rumblings in the halls at CBS in Sacramento is that Byron Kennedy is bugging Gringo Suave (Joe Breezy) to go back to Phoenix because (according to BK) he still hasn't signed the dotted line on his contract with the competing station which technically still makese him a free agent. Not sure people would remember the old team though, its been years since they were on Power 92.

Thats why it makes no sense they got rid of a morning team that had been around for years in phoenix had a built in audience and what do they do they fire them so no it makes no sense if you plan to keep the station and bring in a new morning team. Bringing in a team from years ago noone will remember them. CBS get a clue people get a clue obviously radio is not one of your strengths in life at least not in phoenix.

I will say it again cbs radio phoenix you people are dumb and are clueless. At least cbs radio in los angeles seems to know what they are doing aka kroq kcbs you peeps could use kevin weatherlys help!!!

KZON will now suffer big time for there bad decisions!!!

This bad decision will cause power to start doing much better so that is something to be greatful for!!!

aka kroq kcbs...

But elsewhere in the C(BS) El Lay cluster...the ax fell--substantially--at
KNX and KFWB yesterday (see the El Lay board). More shenanigans from
the corporate suits and bean counters, and market managers. (Gotta
protect that bonus! )

While neither station can bring in Tom Kent (or Ryan Seacrest :) due to
their (news) formats, one has to wonder half jokingly, what are KNX
and KFWB going to do--voicetrack nights and weekends?

Sadly, this is just the beginning of the layoffs at every station around the country. Lots of good people will be on the beach.

As much as I would love to work for a station again, I really have come to enjoy steady employment and a house.

Darrin and I came up in the business around the same time and had pretty much the same dream. I have to give him full credit for getting much further than I ever did.

Good people will always win in the end, but the next few years are going to be rough.

Pipe in Big O and Dukes from Washington DC (add a local phoenix hour and air their washington show for a few hours in am drive)
Hire Chuck and Colin for The Afternoon Ritual
Brand themselves - The valley's Original Alternative 101-5 The Zone (mix of classic alternative and new alternative)

As much as I want to smack Sandusky around, their strategy of muddying up the rock radio market makes it hard for anyone other than Sandusky to make any money playing rock.
