Charlie Cook mentioned to Lon Helton in last night's edition of Country Aircheck that KKGO's AQH is slightly higher than KBIG's (37,900 to 37,800), but KBIG's 2.7 million cume is more than double that of KKGO.
Cook also points out that 20% of 25-54 listeners had been ages 25-34, 35% were 35-44, and 45% were 45-54, and that in essence the audience has gotten 'a bit younger', since the gap between the top and bottom demos has now been sliced in half.
Cook did say that building that 25-34 cell is going to be tough in a market with two top 40 outlets, 'great Rock stations', as well as a market that is very heavily Hispanic in 25-34.
Thanks again to those myopic blockheads at the LA Times for not mentioning this at all---nice.
