Kim Peterson calls it quits!

I disagreed completely with The Kimmer's political views but he did have an entertaining show. The fact that it was a local show was also a plus.

When he first started at WGST in the early 90s, he had a quality show every day.

Some loser spews:

Without those sales weasels you goof there isnt any programming. Idiots like you forgot that fact constantly the reason we are in the shape we are in today. SALES DRIVES PROGRAMMING BECAUSE NOWADAYS PROGRAMMING SUCKS

I respond:

The fact that you apparently need to have the sales/programming symbiosis explained to you here says that you are too stupid to post on this or any other internet message board. "Sales drives programming because nowadays programming sucks!".....huh?

Have a nice day, Mr. Loman.

you should have listened to your parents and stayed in school - you see dropping out in 3rd grade doesnt help my friend....

SALES IS FOREMOST....NOTHING ELSE MATTERS ANYMORE....

And yes you can super size my meal.

Hannitty is hardly a candidate for MENSA.
This is how mediocre our political discussion has become.....Hannitty is a Republican mouthpiece.....and not a very clever one at that! If this is representative of "conservative thought" and "is what people want to hear" then we have paddled far up the River Sh*t!

Fare thee well Kimmer, you'll be missed.
Which is a lot more than can be said for so many of your critics.

Actually Kimmer was a 100% pro doing his act on WGST never talking down to or insulting listeners. He was a rare guy who did other formats before WGST but try and imagine what it must have been like: a station constantly changing with Dr Laura for a while then sports talk shows for a while. Dave ramsey now. I mean can they figure out who they are. Ratings say "nobody cares anyway." Try and name how many PD's he went thru each one wanting to reinvent him. I'm impressed he put up with it as long as he did.

so......how fast do you think that lawsuit will get dropped now? ;)

Gotta go, your killing me!

Kimmer was a pro. If you understood the challenges presented to him by management (good and bad) you’ll never appreciate just how resourceful and brilliant he was.

And obviously, his latest move still speaks to his intelligence and wise judgment.

He’s a clever, witty guy with a great sense of right and wrong. He understood the concept of a market-driven free republic. His detractors could never hope to stand toe-to-toe with a guy like Kim Peterson and discuss issues based on fact and logic. They just resort to juvenile name-calling.

Semper Fi and carry on ... Thank you for serving, Marine.

After a while bath water becomes refreshing if that is all that you have to quench your thirst. You have become so accustomed to receiving less that adequate that you don't know any better. If the Kimmer was good for you great. To those that know better, well, we just didn't listen.

Thanks - but you didn't have to tell us what your drink preference is in order for us to understand your tastes.
Just another case of the guy who knows a radio show is bad, after admitting he didn't listen.

You are 100% right!!! His latest moves shows that no one would hire him, that he is boring, does the same stupid things over and over and couldn't draw listeners.

Kimmer was always very supportful of the local military and let his show be used as a voice for them. I agree with a earlier poster that he got people talking about him and here we are now posting line after line about him. His show was unique and will be missed. After his bout with cancer and a recent divorce can you blame the guy for wanting to slow down and just enjoy life? The guy has to be pushing 60.

Fair Winds and Following Seas from a Navy fan!

For all of us who are 60 and still kickin' - thanks! :D

Given the chance, Kimmer will be back on the air - maybe in Florida. He stuck it out through too much to retire forever.

I remember wondering who this Kim Peterson person was when I heard him the day he signed on WGST (it was a gorgeous, sunny day, too)...the nonstop phone calls were all from people who enthusiastically welcomed him to the airwaves, who knew him from other places, and clearly loved him. The show that evolved to include Jim Gossett, Wayne-No-Offense, and Snake made me laugh on the way home, releasing the tension that would otherwise create extraordinary road rage after a day at the office. Thanks for the memories, Kimmer, best wishes to you for a fabulous retirement.

Equally important is that I received a telephone survey regarding my radio listening habits (caller ID said "PROTEL") this week and was overjoyed to NOT mention Kim's former employer.

As I said above - "They just resort to juvenile name-calling. " Nobody could have done a better job at proving my point than you - Thanks!

Thank you Mr. Peterson for your service to our country.

Thank you Mr. Peterson for causing me to almost drive off the road many times from 1) Laughing too hard, and 2) Shaking my head at the idots (in government, business, etc..) that you discussed on your show.

Thank you Mr. Peterson for ALWAYS being professional in your delivery when it was obvious that CC was pulling the support from you and your show on a regular basis.

Thank you Mr. Peterson for making me think - sometimes even when I didn't want to.

Thank you Mr. Peterson. Have a great retirement.
