ABC’s management has for years tried to replace that program with an entertainment show because of the possibility to increase revenue in the time period.
The rea$on clear to me!
Maybe I'm missing something but what are these six talk shows? I know about Letterman & Leno at 11:35 and that Jimmy would be the third but who are the other three? Are you counting Conan in this?bpatrick said:I have serious doubts about the possibility that six talk shows can go head-to-head and survive.
Troy Goodwin said:ABC's San Antonio affiliate K-SAT 12 also carries its hourlong newscast at 10PM, and I think K-SAT might trim it to accommodate Kimmel's move from 11:05 PM to 10:35 PM.

shows can go head-to-head and survive. If you're old
enough to remember the 1969-72 period, when Joey Bishop
and then Dick Cavett aired on ABC, Merv Griffin on CBS, and
Johnny Carson on NBC, all in the 11:30 PM-1 AM (ET) slot,
only Carson was left standing when the smoke cleared. And
that was just three shows. I'll go with Leno and Letterman
to win this showdown, if only from viewer habit at 11:35.
