btw - "guru" ... if I were the guru of 2 things that are about to be things no longer (i.e. radio and ... further out, TV) i'd be very name-calling, knee-jerk defensive too ::) ... so no hard feelings, old friend :-*

Sorry, I really am just a listener. And don't get me wrong... if Robin & Maynard ever get themselves back on the air in Seattle I'll drop KIRO Fm like a hot rock in order to listen to what I REALLY want to hear. As for being Linda Thomas, I was very clear a while back both on this board & in my emails to Bob Rivers' show, that I was a huge supporter of their hiring back Maura when whasser-name left. Not Linda. I do think, though, that Linda sounds great on a real news station like KIRO. And who's Rod Arquette?
 
Just KIRO's luck that the Mariners are on a winning streak and they're in the basement. Add to it that KOMO is able with a 'rim shot' FM and no coveted Mariners 'CUME' to beat them pretty good (remember the outragous sum of money they paid to get the broadcasts). My guess is that sometime in the near future, we'll see some sort of 'recombination' of the AM and FM news/talk content. It might be after M's season, it might be at the Playoffs, it might be a full fledged simulcast with the best of both continued as one (Collabro doing Sports in evening a la Wayne Cody days). It just makes sense to have one powerhouse instead of two also rans. I wish them the best.

There was also a MIX format in there...Mix 100.7; but forget which calls they used,
 
I really think it's too early. Repeat: IT'S TOO EARLY!

Give KIRO-FM time and I think it will do just fine. (However, I do agree that the switch of the AM to sports, was also TOO EARLY!)
