KISS FM, NY's new no. 1 in Spring Phase II

Wow! What a terrific success that has been, WRKS "Kiss-FM" is now #1 in the second part of the Arbitrends, woo-hoo! Kudos to the rest of the airstaff for doing a tremendous job for the station after the demise of "Smooth Jazz" CD 101.9 back in February to WRXP because of this rock mess and many of these fans on Allan's board suggesting that New York is still supporting three rock stations, that is way too much for this audience to have a third rock station, sorta like WBPM up in the HV area with all of its mess on 92.9 playing too much classic rock mixed with some pop.

If the Spring Arbitron comes out, it will be their last stand before the PPM's will be coming out in the Fall. Congrats to WRKS for doing a great job after the loss of CD 101.9. Back in February, CD 101.9 lost a chuck of listeners before heading to other stations like WBLS and WRKS for its competitor. Thanks to Emmis and the Emmis crew for making WRKS #1 in the trends and WRXP, another Emmis station sounded way too bad.

It's only a trend though... not the actual book... so we'll see how the rest trends and if its enough to be #1 overall for the book. Z-100 didn't go down, it was a leap frog effect... so we'll see if it holds, will be interesting.
