Yea but didn't both the big shows mornings and afternoons just both renew their deals this past year? Unless you trim staff off those shows and does that really do anything to the bottom line?

I am sure BJ is safe, but his sidekicks must cost something, right? Trim it down to one sidekick and a producer and they'd save a lot of money. Maybe cut out traffic and weather to save some too. It really is sad how morning radio sucks so much in this town.

They made wholesale changes to BJ's show today...and it Sucks! I swear, they take these surveys and do the complete opposite of what the data says...

looks like comments from call handle "X at KXRX" nailed it on the 7-13 opening post! good analysis and prediction there! as far as the force fed "shock jock" testosterone based morning shows like this........looks like even the radio immature teen, and twentyager something males, who were looking to get off with the "in your face" blatant, sextreme talk, got bored, or maybe they moved to a rip-rap channel cause the porn was better. looks like maybe this morning radio nonesense has finally come into its ninth radio inning at KISW.

scotty dont get tired behind the wheel. he's hip-hopped up on rock-star energy drinks, and his XM satellite radio keeps him goin with truckers talk, redneck outlaw waylon jennings country, and if he's lucky he gets to hear his beloved, hippy dippy joni mitchell music on XM, to help counteract his caffeinated road rage.

but, after a full night of clutch pumping, gear shifting, and steering wheel grabbing, he has been known to fall asleep while reading the morning paper, while listening to his favorite morning show, bob rivers.

I don't know what to think about the new format on KISW mornings? Obviously they are doing it to chase ratings or they hope to find some additional listeners, but for a station that has as much history as KISW it seems a shame that they just toss out the baby with the bathwater like it appears they have done, not to mention it is a bit of a gamble too.

Do they honestly think they are going to glean listeners from KZOK or KJR-FM in large enough numbers to offset the Active Rock fans they are Alienating and who by the looks of BJ Shea's facebook page are turning the dial in droves.

I thought in radio the saying was if it's not broke don't fix it.

I will just toss this out there as long as I am rambling.

Does anyone think there is even the slightest chance that KISW would be in the Bob Rivers sweepstakes? Just putting the chum in the water, Bob Rivers Mornings, BJ Shea Middays, Mens Room Afternoons???

This 'survey' was just a random contest to give away concert tickets. They are planning on being the #3 Classic Rock station in Seattle. Secondly, what's happened to BJ's Show is going to KILL IT! Mark my words, in a year, BJ will be on the Bench because of HIS poor decisions.

Ahhhh so you must be a huge fan of AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin fan because thats all I heard all week on the morning show over and over

Yes, I like AC/DC. I prefer the Bon Scott era. And yes, I like Jim and Zeppelin as well.

I guess my original point was that I haven't listened to KISW in the mornings since BJ started there. My mom taught me if you can't say anything nice about someone, don't say anything at all. BJ's not my cup of tea.

I haven't heard much since heading to L.A. but when I am back in Seattle visiting I try to tune in, and I will fire up a stream when I am homesick. I think the KISW morning show is taking a big risk but for what they think are the right reasons but yesterday after listening to how long time listeners of that show were berated and called names for simply expressing an honest opinion by the man who asked for that opinion in the first place was nothing short of childish and didn't even rate as morning zoo radio.

Placebo - I like those bands too, but I think there can be too much of a good thing, if you are spinning 3 - 4 songs per hour for a week you would think you would hear more than the same handful of artists am I right?

6:40am this morning...Stone Sour's "Looking Glass" with a :00 intro! What does that PPM survey data tell you about :00 music intros? I know what it says... Talking down/over songs with :00 intro's is a big no-no in the PPM data I've seen from around the US...

Now, who's the big media consultants that schedule the music for the show think about :00 intro song during the show? They have also started playing more re-currents during the morning show...
