KISW to flip?

Jackson Dell Weaver said:
Legacy and heritage are of little media value today. We'd all lament the demise of a heritage radio station, but Plymouth, Oldsmobile and Packard were legacy names that went away when they were no longer relevant products. I doubt KISW is doing anything other than generating some blog press, but the lesson remains. Legacy don't mean squat today and probably shouldn't.

To the owners of the station, yeah...that's how THEY feel...They don't care about "heritage" unless the billing looks right.

I would advise the starter of this thread, stop posting under the influence of illegal narcotics.

If KISW flips Tuesday at 6am, I will cut of my own "Yammer" and send it to Sgt. Hairclub, personally. Peter Griffin Style!

this whole thing is BS. If Entercom was to flip a station in their stable of Seattle stations, KISW would be on the short list. Even though KNDD's #'s aren't what they used to be, I doubt they would flip either...with a still new PD, a new afternoon show and a change in the music, they won't drop them yet...Entercom is sitting better than most clusters in this market. If you want to talk about stations flipping, talk about KJAQ, KBKS, or KPTK. Those 3 CBS stations have a better chance of flipping than almost all of the Seattle Entercom stations.

107.7 wouldnt have to flip if they dropped Carolla and brought back a local morning show. Also, if Lazlo brought back Dick Rosetti (or anyone really) and dumped his own Church of Lazlo, The End would rebound quite quickly.

I agree with you on the morning show. It wouldn't fix everything, but I think it would help. As for Rosetti, those are his numbers. They have nothing to do with Lazlo's show.

I just liked Rosetti better than I do Lazlo.

Yeah all ten people that liked Dick aren't going to do much for the ratings. Think about it...if his ratings were good he would have been moved to midddays instead of re-hiring No Name.

My two cents: I was in Seattle from Alaska this summer, and I know a thing or two about crappy radio ;D! Dick Rosetti would probably get laughed out of Anchorage (#172), SHOCKED he was on in Seattle, that guy sucked.

His numbers weren't all that bad, it's just that Lazlo thinks he and his wife are the saving grace of a failing radio station and decided to replace his show with theirs. Lazlo actually wanted to give Dick the night shift and boot Harms, so obviously he felt Rosetti had the talent and audience to be successful.

Maybe Lazlo thinks he is the saving grace because Entercom brought him in to be the saving grace. I doubt they told him to "stay the course." I mean, why bring in someone new to program the station if he's not going to make changes?
