There is no "rumor". The KIXL will be Catholic formatted soon. It was purchased by the Starboard Media Foundation who operates the Relevant Radio network.

Any word if there will be a call letter change? 970 has been KIXL since 1974.

I haven't heard any rumors of a change and considering thet Relevant doesn't usually brand by call letters I would say a change is unlikely.
The change has been completed. AM 970 has now "converted" to Roman Catholic programming.
