KKAM Lubbock is now "The Fan"

Today, The Fan has switched affiliations from ESPN Radio to Sporting News Radio. :mad:

Is it that much cheaper to run Sporting News over ESPN? Otherwise, why would you want to lose the marketing recognition of ESPN? ???

You know Ramar gained the rights to ESPN Radio for 104.3, right?
 
It all seems to be a fundamental shift to me. The station apparently wants to spend more time reporting on sports then on shows or feeds that talk about sports. Scores over snores if you will. I don't know if that's the best idea for quarter hours, but it seems like what they're doing.

I keep hearing inside info on this board that Ramar is switching to FM sports, but its still Hot 104.3. When is the flip coming?

It is said that it will be sometime this Summer. Not a specific date. It could be soon. I'm pretty sure KSTQ is jockless right now. I haven't heard any DJ's on there this week. Maybe it will happen June 1st since KKAM just got rid of their ESPN affiliation. It couldn't be too much longer. June 1st, the start of the month seems like a logical time to flip...but who knows?

Maybe they will stunt forever like The Twister in Dallas did before it turned to Platinum 96.7 (I hope they do not do this)
 
Simple re-arrangment of the deck chairs.
Remove syndicated network nobody cares about, replace with other syndicated network that nobody cares about.

Amen to that brother...I didn't think Lubbock was big enough for one sports station and now we have two. I think what we'll hear is an FM that's all about Tech and pretty much nothing else and an AM that's about everything other than Tech. Even if you put them together you're looking at a three share. I don't get it.
