Probably because if KLBJ were to do that since 93.3 is not a translator, KLBJ 93.7 would have to change it's calls. Can confirm that KBPA HD-3 is a simulcast of KLBJ AM. The top of the hour ID, which I just heard 4 minutes ago, mentions the AM and translator but no the HD channel yet. Nothing filed at the FCC about changing K259AJ's primary station yet either.
Frog's reaction was what first came to my mind too. If you change the translator's primary the HD channel then they could run a redirect for a week or two before the new format on 99.7 debuts (assuming they don't keep Vibe).
How KLBJ is not on 93.3 already absolutely blows my mind.
Not necessarily. Chicago’s WBBM is an example of a market there an FM simulcast of the AM station has a different call (WCFS) while the same call on FM is a separate format.Probably because if KLBJ were to do that since 93.3 is not a translator, KLBJ 93.7 would have to change it's calls.

How heavily does 93.7 use KLBJ-FM in its branding? I haven’t sampled it enough recently to determine that.
