KLIF Going Down Drain?

This isn't Clint, but your facts are totally screwed up and it's a shame you post them as truth. Terese ASKED to be moved. Bill Sheppard said no way to doing news for Ankarlo. Jennifer left the place BECAUSE of him. Board ops and producers quit because of him (Cory, Donnie, among others).
AMP had a history with office guys. Joe, Humble, Donovan, Ankarlo.

My apologies to Clint. It really has been the underpaid board-ops and producers that have held that mess together for months.
 
When Darrell did get cocky with me that one time, and I don't even remember the details of what he did, I kicked back from the computer and the board and said, "Listen, man! I was an air-talent for six years. I can do your job! Can you do mine?"

He apologized, and we never again had a problem.

In the four years I was in Dallas, AnnMarie was his producer most of the time. Cory was a great guy, and I don't argue that point.

But I think accusing someone of martial infidelity is out of line, no matter what rumors float around the office. I've heard all those rumors over the years and a whole lot more about lots of other people.

But it IS a fact that Jennifer's main motivation was to be nearer her boyfriend. She and I talked at length about it, and how she could make it work.

Donovan got a promotion to be Humble's producer. Why wouldn't he want to take it?

I'm done on this. I've got an afternoon show to go do.

Hey Kick,

This is sad, lurking out here, keepin your view fresh. No doubt Ankarlo is a narcissist, most media people are (it's why they want to do it). Let it go, get on with YOUR life and quit thinking your posts are going to get back at Ankarlo, or even set the record straight. As a listener, I have heard Ankarlo being a jerk to production staff, but it was not my soap opera, and I would listen to other programs for a while. I figured if the staff couldn't work it out, they would get out (that's what you say you did). All your other accusations are titillating, but I never assumed Ankarlo to be THE God, I was just listening to the radio. Let it go, he's a jerk, and now he's soon to be gone. Too many people when they get a divorce forget to MOVE ON.

GUYS! c'mon, lets get back on target...Dicuss the station, not the soap opera behind the scenes....I agree KLIF has been on the receiving end of boneheaded managment moves for years, but it doesnt give us carte blanche to go into detail about what goes on behind closed doors. Yes, I agree darryl is a bit of a pompous windbag on the air and off, but dicussing what occures in his personal life is really none of our business. It'll be handled up eventually on the cosmic level, so dont get all bent out of shape about something you dont have control over.

On that note, this is my last comment on this topic, as I have more pressing matters in the real world ;)
 
Fact is, I was asked to come on this board to set the record straight. Never even knew about it before.
When I saw posts touting things about him that were entirely FALSE (and knowing why AMP was so motivated to do that), it got my ire up. He is a scumbag. Sorry, that's the truth.
I have moved on, but I have not forgotten.
The poor folks at KTAR should know who is coming their way.
And Slambang- I sure hope Ankarlo has his seatbelt on for that cosmic ride!

I have refrained from commenting since I am still an employee, but once I saw move on and sad...I felt compelled to play.
I know what kick says is true. Does anyone really care? Will he get what he deserves? Probably not. Cate- you always were a sweet girl with rose colored glasses. But most of your day was pent up in a closet.
I worked closely with Mr. A...I agree with kicks assessment.
Ibuibeme- I dont believe kick started this thread...but merely commented on it. As a listener and not a co-worker, should you really be commenting on their experience???
 
OK, I get it now. People who have been abused by a jerk demonstrate their pain with any post that does not match their experience by questioning who the REAL author is of a post, minimizing and discrediting the statements of another post, and telling others to shut up as their thoughts do not qualify. Darrell has taught you well!!

WAIT, maybe you are Darrell? Maybe he has registered with multiple user names and is contributing to this board in the hopes of developing increased interest in him, his website, his book, his lawsuit, his cat, his dog, his car, his house, his back, his gun, and his new show. Darrell, you be the man!

Now I feel very lonely. It is just me and Darrell on this board. I'm such a tool.
 
I guess it boils down to position.  I worked with Darrell, not for him, so I really don't have the negatives to report.

I did chuckle about the post about "daily sales calls."  Okay, now that is stretching it a bit.

Rose colored glasses?  Hardly.  You don't see me there now, do you?  Though my leaving had more to do with wanting to get out of Dallas, burnout, and having built a successful business.

And that closet I spent all day in was a God sent. Who wants to play office politics?!
 
Nobody has mentioned how Ankarlo and Knapp took a sharp right turn into weirdo-land.

Everytime I tuned in lately, they were talking to Minutemen or somebody who thinks the Trans-Texas Corridor is a Commie plot.

Their ratings went south when they started Mex-bashing. Look it up.

This is Texas. Everybody is either Hispanic or has dated or married or hired or gotten drunk with somebody Hispanic.

Ankarlo's rants sank him.

San Antonio has been 80 percent Hispanic for 50 years.

That city still has a middle class.

The second generation always assimilates. Texas will be fine.

Don't think he was Mex Bashing, maybe illigel bashing. I'm glad your of the mindset to let illigels in this country 60 million and growing this decade.

"Mex bashing"? The only people I ever heard "Mex bashing" on Darrell's show were the LULAC lunies and Domingo Garcia, by their suggestions that all illegal aliens are Mexicans. ;D

:-* Let's face it, Darrell ruined his Dallas show with his 60's style racism, ethnic humor, and whack-job rightie politics.
I felt he almost made a martyr of his marine son. It was disgusting listening to his wartime ratings grab using his son as a front line reporter. Out of one side of his mouth he claims to be a devout Christian while threatening to kill and drink the blood of someone disagreeing with him. Then there's the gay bashing. If not for the Adams apple, I would swear he's Ann Coulter's big sister. The gay voice when he's not on the correct mic. Please, there are just sooo many things about this guy that make him completely icky. Dallas will be better off without his kind. Allen Texas will be better off as well. In a year or so when he sells the home he's damaged by falling through the ceiling, he may have another opinion about this wonderful economy he keeps trying to convince us of. I just wonder who will inspire the ignorant, racist element of the Dallas audience once he's gone.
