RadioStarOne said:Which will turn these two stations into just two other "Wasted Radio Signals" in the bay area as a direct result of collusion between "The Big Boys" and "pip squeak radio station operators" to lessen competition on the backs of "The Big Boys!" And for all of you that will say this is not true......go tell your tales to someone else already because I will never buy what you are saying! The sale being brokered by Media Venture Partners just gives "The Big Boys" the cover they need to get away with the same old anti-competitive routine over and over.
Huh? These stations were sold to a smaller broadcaster who has a model that works... where the previous operators could not make a profit. San Jose is a tough market, as it is embedded in the SF market, and almost all the national and agency money goes to the total market, not the breakout market. With Bay Area revenues off about 40% since 2000 ($440 million to about $260 million), it's amazing anybody wants any marginal signal stations, particularly AMs.
You've never sold on the street in a major market, have you? (rhetorical question, no need to answer... I know already)
