KMAZ-LP has been getting beaten up pretty badly from both ends. KMKS has been overtaking it throughout the week, then when KMKS drops back down, here comes Beaumont's Magic. K283CH has not had any problems, so far, combating co-channels KZEP Hot 104-5 over in SA, or Kiss FM KKMY from Beaumont. It has held strong, as has K291CE at my abbreviated checks of 106-1. Haven't heard the Big Dog in months.
Not to diminish mrtejano's accomplishment, but KLQB is really not that difficult a catch here in Houston. Like KROX-FM, it tends to show up down here pretty regularly. Once 101X moves south and boosts power, we should see it match Bob-FM appearances over here. Austin stations just seem to make a beeline towards us this time of year. Eventually, even KKHT will have to combat KASE 101 again, as it's done many times before. Give it another month, and we'll be hearing country music trying to infiltrate our FM sports station, and being somewhat surprised when we hear that we're suddenly listening to Air 1 on KXAI Refugio-Corpus Christi, instead of what we assumed was KHJK La Porte-Houston as usual.
