They will be changing format at 11:00am. The new format is Alan Burns "Movin" format. It is targeted to women 25-44 and is rhythmic AC. Playlist includes Madonna, Prince, Young MC, Ton-Loc, but also plays heavy currents including Mariah Carey, Pussycat Dolls, Rhianna, Daniel Powter and James Blunt. Aimed directly at KPLZ and the upper end of KUBE and KBKS. It will also eat into the lower end of JACK. The format runs with 8 spots an hour and no air-talent. KLSY has placed a 600,000 TV buy. Last song on Mix. "Closing time" from Semisonic.

This KLSY flip is a warm welcome to this Market. Major two competitors will be KBKS and KPLZ. KISS, you're goin' down. And this is all very strategic in preparation of a new Class C2 104.5 Mhz up on Cougar. This now puts Clear Channel in a box, as to where do they go from here with their new channel? You honestly believe Funky Monkey will be successful up here? Now way. So now Sandusky and Entercom have put Clear Channel in a box with a "KUBE Light". Good for them. Congratuations!

Hmmm... OK, it's noon & now we have the new "Moving 92-5". And I'll just keep movin' on down the dial, thanks. That was a short-lived one-hour spent at 92.5 on my dial. Maybe I'll tune in a few times here & there to see if they are indeed such a crap-hole of a station that they remain jock-less. Barf. I hate this trend in radio away from PEOPLE.

This will crucify the upper end of KUBE's audience, most of KISS's audience in the Metro, though KISS might win in the TSA, and force KPLZ to focus on their suburban soccer moms driving Denali SUV's.I suggest Sandusky hurry up and form the strongest promotions department money can buy, and start the wildest street promotions Seattle has ever seen since KJR in 1970 to 1977.Congratulations Mr. Kaye.....You the man!

Was this format not tried and failed on KBTB 95.7? Why will it work better this time? AC ends a long run at 92.5 first as Classy then as Mix. Based on the ratings it should have been closed down long ago. But again is this the fix?

I'm not in the business, just a listener of radio. I am glad to see a new format in Seattle. We didn't need any more rock or country or "chick" music (My wife just loves that Mountain). I think the new Movin' will fit us 30 and 40 something listeners that have rhythm. Now we just need to get back a FM "entertainment" talk station.

Yes it was tried once before - but the execution was horrible and the musical focus was too broad. As far as "this will crucify the upper end of KUBE's audience, most of KISS's audience in the Metro, though KISS might win in the TSA, and force KPLZ to focus on their suburban soccer moms driving Denali SUV's" goes - that's an excellent bunch of consultant-speak. That and $3 gets you a latte at Starbucks. If anything, this format will hurt KPLZ and KJAQ the most - but both stations are programmed by talented individuals who know how to stave off competitors, so the impact should be minimal.

This is not even close to the same format that "95-7 The Beat" tried a couple of years back. "The Beat" was an oldies station. Their core music was from the 70's. If you're listening to MOVin 92.5 since Noon, it's clear that it's core is much newer...more like the mid 80's to the mid-90's musically.

I tuned into KLSY today, because of what I saw here. I'm just a listener of radio, and read here occasionally. To me it seems like they are just copying what 96.5 did, and playing any song they can get their hands on. I heard Linkin Park, and then New Kids on the Block today. So at least this format change will free up a preset on the radio.

If I want a jockless music station, I'll listen to 96.5 I also agree we need another FM talk station. (cough)HD Radio(cough).
