KMAK power

They still seem to be promoting "Más Fuerte Que Nunca." (Stronger than ever).
Given the strange operations of this station, "strong" may be a reference to smell!

What they need to do is move to the foothills east of Orange Cove(COL) and have much more power and still cover Fresno and Visalia with a line of sight signal, much like KKBZ 105.1 did, they went from 600 watts at 4500 ft, to 4.7 KW at 2200 Ft. still covers all the Fresno Market with much more signal intensity.

Campbell Mountain would make the perfect location. Just West of the KMJ tower farm. I think you could be 1,000-1500' off the valley floor, with nothing but flat valley right below from NW (Fresno) to SE ( Visalia). (270 degrees?) and still be at an HAAT of 300ft. It was 20 years ago I was looking there as a possible LPFM site. I dont know if there are any antennas up there. I dont know if McClatchy still owns a big chunk of that hill or not, but I'm pretty sure they used to.

If no site possible on Campbell mtn, the KMJ 800footers are a mile away in a cove. Id guess you could go up to maybe the top of one of those and not have to reduce from the 6kw. (But Campbell would be blocking to the West and NW).
