KMCQ Playing more 80s.

Lonely Summer said:
I'm not gonna panic about KMCQ just yet, but hope they remember why people tuned them in in the first place.

Looks like KMCQ is remembering that. In the last 15 minutes or so they played You Can Do It, The In Crowd and Drift Away, all to honor Dobie Grey who passed away today.

Kinda surprised to hear the former two songs as you don't usually hear those two songs on terrestrial radio at least.

It also proves KMCQ does put a lot of thought into what songs they play, that and them having a section on their website to request songs. While KJR is a legacy brand in this area(playing Top 40 on AM for years, then oldies on AM, and then playing some form of oldies/classic hits on FM for over 15 years now), KMCQ is proving there is more then enough room for two stations playing similar music in this market.

Actually if KMCQ eventually gets live personalities, they could become KBSG 2.0, considering their music library is so massive.

From the 104.5 KMCQ website:

Get ready for non stop hits! Seriously, we only play good music! All the hits from the 60's and 70's and if you listen long enough you might hear a classic jam tossed in from the 80's!

Discussion over.

Says you. I am a listener and entitled to my opinion. If I want to continue to discuss this I will.

Discuss it all you want but at the end of the day they are doing exactly what they said they were going to do on their website.... If you don't like it you can always use the tools at your disposal and turn the channel or turn off the radio....

I know it is going to sound crazy but KMCQ isn't making choices based on what one listener thinks... There is actually a method to their madness which seems to be working in it's own small way....

I like you KX but why did you chew my butt for suggesting that toonces turn off the radio if he or she doesn't like it?

ahhh yes, now I see...

I've also noticed KMCQ played a Christmas song (Grinch) yesterday at about 5 PM. They played an instrumental Christmas song but of course I don't remember the title.

Really love this as KJR are beyond irritating now. I swear every time I shift the radio channel they're playing "Only the Good Die Young", "Hotel California", "Listen to the Music", or any Journey song.

Dear Santa,
Please grant KMCQ audio processing...
Optimod 8600
Vorsis AirAura

God knows they could use it

Ohhhhhh. I've been saying this for two years now. But might I suggest not the Optimod but the Goodness of Her Highness......may I present to you the Omnia .11 for KMCQ. It's mother ____ pure sweetness and glory.....guaranteed to put a smile on your face, a thump in your eardrums, and supreme killer of moths flying around in your processor:

AMEN to that Mookie re: KJR's stale play list. Since KJR dropped Casey Kasem's AT-40 the 70s, I no longer have to tune in to 95.7 at all. Thankfully the brilliant minds programming KMCQ picked up the Classic AT-40 shows, and the shows are even better because we now get the extras each hour.

Amen to that! KJR is completely useless!

What a waste of a frequency! (95.7) Putting all-Christmas on there, or something similar to the former KKSF in San Francisco (Smooth Jazz and/or AC) would be much better than a loop of 25 "played to death" classic hits songs.

this motley crew of seattle posters seem to be unanimous. KJR playlist is.....a yawnfest.
yep, use that off button switch!
what did you all actually expect from the clear channel centralized control center?

Of course that's the way it is, there are very few people on this board who think in an objective way.
