KMJ's ratings

Maybe because KMJ is competing against themself with KMJ-FM.

FM with a .07 of whatever, has only one place to go. Geez, KYNO is now #2 in talk radio in Fresno. With the May book, KMJ's share is less than 10X that of KYNO. You think Peak is having sleepless nights over this? lol.....

They should combine it into one KMJ and then simulcast it on 105.9.

They were simulcasting the morning news, now they went with Glen Beck, KMJ-FM 105.9 does do news in the afternoon from 5-6, KMJ 580 doesn't.
One thing "105.5 the Truth" still hasn't even showed up in the ratings at all, at least when they were Smooth Jazz they had a 1.0 in the ratings and when they were The Wolf 105.5 Country and "That 60s station" it was higher. 105.5 KJZN is better off going back to a music format.

KMJ roared back to #1 today.
A very impressive showing, no?

Going from a 9.3 in Winter to an 8.1 in Spring does not impress me much. A loss of 1.2 shares is hardly "roaring" by any account.

KMJ is 6th in 25-54, behind KOND, KRDA, KBOS, KFSO and KMGV. The #1 station in this demo has nearly double the share of KMJ.

Yea, but three of the stations you mentioned are Spanish, that's an apples and oranges comparison.

I'm going to agree with ExKynoJox on that one.

"but three of the stations you mentioned are Spanish". So?

Now we are throwing red-herring qualifications in to try and justify Wacky's bazaar original statement?

David is right, the numbers show KMJ 'roaring' backwards, losing shares, with FIVE other stations having a larger 25-54 audience.

Do we need to 'qualify' Wacky's wacky assessment until we eliminate 50, 75, or 90% of Fresno's radio listening audience?

Why not just create a demo breakout tailored to KMJ's target audience? Wanna hit the largest audience of the most gullable, easily led, simplistic thinking, reactionary, need-to-be-told what to think, scaredycats? That's where KMJ 'roars'.

There are 100 shares in any market. Shares have no language. Shares taken by any particular station are shares that any other station does not have. The twenty-some Spanish language station shares in any important demo in Fresno means all other stations have twenty-some less shares to chop up.

KMJ did not "roar" to #1 and is not the leader in the age groups that advertisers seek.

Wow ,you really hate KMJ and their listeners.

Edwardo, how can you justify that obsurd statement? I'm no apologist for talk radio, but give me a break.
#1 is #1. Come on man!

I agree with Ken on this one. I also think that insulting the audience of a radio station, no matter what you think of a format, is not the way to make your point, or win a debate/argument.

Ken, you've missed the irony in my post. It's not called "hate radio" for no reason. Any sentiments perceived to be expressed in my post are only meant as 'entertainment', for effect; presenting the mirror image, an ironic reversal, so to speak, of KMJ's 9am-10pm, "you are either with us or you're against us (our enemy", program content.

I don't hate even my worst enemy, but I hear a lot of hate coming thru my radio when I tune it to KMJ between 9am and 10pm.

I do hate lying. And I hear an awful lot of that on 580. I wont pretend to be dispassionate.

Sorry if my editorializing diverted from the original topic. Let's get back to looking at where KMJ's numbers are roaring.
Roaring back. LOL What is that? Roaring backwards?

OK Wacky, you say "give me a break", here it is:: define your #1.

The station dropped a significant share level in 12+. And, all that matters to the management and owners is 25-54.

Arbitron gives 12+ numbers away for free because those numbers have no sales value. It's just a beauty contest ranking, and is worthless to stations. The really important numbers are 18-49, 25-54, 18-34 and the subsets of these... 55+, where most of the KMJ audience is, is valueless too.

lol just keep telling yourself that... "got to remember...", "got to remember..."
it's so much easier than fact checking.

Just curious Mofo, did you lift that from KMJ's media kit?
