KNWN audio question

I'm pretty sure the LPAM geeks will want a crack at AM before the hams get to it (even though the hams have been salivating at the idea of taking over AM for years as an extension of the 160m band.) I think the one up for the LPAMs is the fact AM is a band available on most radios for general broadcast programming of Whatever while the hams will use side bands for personal conversations. And the LPAM proponents won't be an easy group to talk out of, not as fixated as some of them are on the idea. So let them have it and let time and the market do it's thing. The hams will ultimately have it in the end. But to secure that beyond any doubt, let the LPAMs have their way until they get tired/bankrupt.
Gawd could you imagine? Existing full power AM stations can't get over the noise floor at night, let alone some flea powered AM's. The LPFM stations bitch enough about' 'WAAA, WAAAA, we don't have enough coverage!! With some LPAM? That would be a financial suicide mission.

I know. But these are determined people. So in these scenarios, where you already know the outcome, just get the popcorn.

We now have KWLE 1340. Now the Quietest Station Anywhere. Almost Dead Carrier (you can hear some Punjabi talk, but not at anything close to KRPA 1110 modulation), It's been like this for a while.....
And it's still like this. What's up?

Not every AM station employs or wants 125% positive peaks. Some transmitters of the hollow state kind can't even do that. And 125% on negative peaks causes carrier suppression, which means you loose the signal the modulation "sits on".
As an old time engineer once told me: "You can have more than something but you can't have less than nothing." Therefore, if 100% negative modualtion equals total carrier pinch off, it is impossible to have 125% negative modulation. Just saying...
