Maybe the imfamous, KOOL Listener Lauren will remember him...
Infamous KOOL Listener Lauren? I beg to differ...
IreneCaraFan-- "infamous" KOOL Listener Lauren is stumped, because I've never heard of the name! But I agree with you that Sammy Sherwood was great. I could never say who the "best" is, because I have my opinions on "best" DJs for specific dayparts-- it wouldn't be just one.
Justthenumbers-- What great compliments! Thank you for sticking up for me here. I'm thinking the original statement was meant well and just a joke. I haven't even gotten my foot in the door yet! Believe it or not, being "infamous" was actually something I sometimes joked about to people in the business who SOMEHOW (still don't know how) knew just by the name of Lauren that I must be the Lauren from Radio-Info. It's still a mystery to me (How do you guys do it?).
Speaking of college student terrestrial radio listeners-- What I've found out from my own personal experience would contradict what others have been saying recently about what PPM results have "discovered", and support what I've been saying for quite a while. I've yet to see the research results on their claims. I'm thinking it must just be talk. In a video I presented to 40+ students about radio, the feedback of it and what I included (clips of classic radio airchecks, like WFIL) was wonderful! Their only complaint was that it wasn't their kind of music. Understandable...
I guess. ;D

One question for Lauren, with all the changes at KOOL and as she gets older, will she change to KISS Listener Lauren or Mix Listener Lauren?!?
No, IreneCaraFan, I don't plan on it! I could give my whole history of when I listened to what, but I wouldn't want MondayMorningQB (first time poster) to read too much into my post. :

To make a long story short, I WAS a Mix listener already (10 years ago). That lasted a couple years, and I loved the 80s then. I went on to a couple of others, but KOOL's been the station I've listened to longest. Began in '03 (just listening to Bill Gardner), and by '04 got hooked to the station itself! Basically, the trend of my choice in music has gone back in time, the older I get. But here, it will stay!
Now... back to Camelback Jack!
He wrote a wonderful thank you and goodbye letter. After ten months of sugar-coating, at last the real reasons are being presented to the listeners. But really, I think the letter was so wonderfully written!
