Who is this guy that's been on night's for Lee Bortell? Scott(something)
What in the hect is going on over there?

New guy Scott Letourneau (I think that was how you spell it)... I need Oldiesfan, he knows how to spell it ;D I was wrong spelling it like "Laterno".
Been on since the 25th filling in for Lee.

I've always got it on when I'm doing stuff around the house. 8)

I was kind of expecting they were going to hire somebody new; this is the guy. But other than that, I think things are set. When Camelback Jack returns, weekdays will be the same. I think they may use Scott for weekends or filling-in.

Interesting.

So is there someone permanent assigned to 9 - 2. It's not on the website yet. And where is Lee?

You're right, no one on the website is doing 9 to 2. But Liz Boyle has been for a couple weeks. She's PERFECT for mid-days!! I hope it will be kept that way.

Lee Bortell is filling in for Camelback Jack right now.

I agree!

Closed Circut to Lauren: It's nice to see a high schooler with your passion for radio, young lady.

After 5 months, looks like Lee "Baby" Bortell has the 9-2 shift locked up.
Humpin and bumpin ! Go Lee Baby, Go !

After the formal announcement, will they give the 7-12a shift to Mike Patrick?
He's been filling in.

It should be 7-12, but it's 6-11.

You may recall last spring PD Kris (apparently confused by the
new daylight-saving time dates ;)) moved most of the airshifts
an hour earlier.

Proper daypart devotee David Eduardo was not pleased. ;D
(Just kidding, DE.)

The biggest drawback was losing 6-7 from Jack's PM drive show.
Quite a few commuters in still transit home after 6, not to mention
his penchant for "closing up" at 5:47, hitting the last stopset then
2-3 songs sans jock interplay prior to the TOH and the next show.
So it's not even 2-6 but more like 2-5:47 for PMD.

Then there's the overnight guy having to do six hours...but isn't Drew
voicetracked now since he's APD of KOOL and/or KMLE (can't recall
which)?

Here's a novel idea: 5-10, 10-3, 3-7, 7-12, 12-5, and on the AM drive
show why not turn Peaker and John loose at 9 and let Maria jock the
9-10 hour solo? She always sounded hot when she (voicetracked)
the Saturday night disco show back a few years.

I'll resist the temptation here to again heap scorn on (C)BS and KOOL
for jettisoning Bill Gardner. (No I won't. ;D)

Yeah... I still don't see why... But there a lot of things I don't see "why" anymore. ::)

Both! He's a busy dude.

Too bad you missed it when she DID take over the morning show for a little bit. You were probably at work by then, but I bet you would've loved it. ;)

Oh, keep on bringin' it up, because I do too... Don't fight the temptation! Bill Gardner was simply the best, though I have nothing against Tom Peake at all still.

And where's Liz Boyle on middays? She was perfect for the shift! I say to all who agree, let's all go to the website and send a message to PD Kris. Maybe some feedback from the listeners can help?

Not gonna happen. They'd never hire a woman for that shift/format. That's how it's been on KOOL for decades. Last lady jock I can remember fulltime on KOOL was CJ Brown, and that was over a decade ago. Look for someone with a very deep voice. My bets are on Lee Baby and Mike Patrick.

Isn't that ancient thinking Salesguy 2000? I suppose the BIG VOICE GUY in mid-daze is to appeal to HOUSEWIVES. Have you paid any attention to the workforce in the past 20 years???? Well, I guess your handle says it all. Stay STUCK in the 20th Century, where Men and Women have their place. We all know what a detriment a WOMAN can be on the ratings if placed on a Mid-day shift. Sheesh!!!

Lauren, didn't you graduate recently? Congrats!!!!

Yes, Patti, that's true! Thank you!!

Congrats Lauren! I think you would be KOOL's ideal listener: a young person who wants to hear "Oldies."

I NEVER listened to the format until I was stuck working in a retail store in Chicago that played it. I remember walking in, hearing the music, and thinking "I'm going have to listen to this #@&! for six months?!?" I started getting used to it and had two favorites (Pretty Woman and Big Girls Don't Cry). From that point on, I've always had an Oldies station programmed into my radio.

Whoa Radiowizard! Dont shoot the messenger. I got nothing again a lady on the air, I just said it aint gonna happen on KOOL. Facts is facts, and unless someone can name me a gal whos had their own jock show fulltime on KOOL in the past 15 years, than blame KOOL for being stuck in the past. Isnt that their job, anyway, to be stuck in the past?
