KQBT To Sport New Owners

NM Fan - My complaint is that the subject "KBQT to sport new owners", turns into a vicious attack on Henry "T", started by your statement, that "Henry ruined KDEF". Debate the subject and leave the personal attacks out of it. Henry comes from a pedigree background in Abq entertainmant. His father is an icon in NM broadcasting "Pal Al Tafoya" ( yes, that's where the palalwanabe comes from, I grew up listening to Pal Al), his uncle Dick Tafoya, one of the most respected musicians in New Mexico. I don't know Henry, I'm not related to Henry , but I respect what Henry has achieved. Be a REAL NM Fan, promote our local talent, don't drag it down.

I never came down on the Tafoya family or legacy Palalwanabe but you can't dispute the facts that that station sounds horrible. They miss commercials, at times there is dead air, the commercials bleed over the national feed, there is no real format, the scheduled morning show is on sometimes and when it is on it can last anywhere from 6 minutes, an hour, 23 minutes. They say they are going to do the Lobo baseball games or Aggie games and a little league game comes on, or halfway through one game they leave for another. Obviously I'm not the only one that hears this problem as there are others agreeing with my thoughts.

There is a lot of guys on locally that should be promoted as they do a great job. 770 has done well with their local shows. Like them or hate them, they are good, many of the FM local talent has also done well. I would say as a whole most of the stations sound professionally run in this town and while their may be computer or human glitches every now and again things run very well. I'm hoping the new sports formatted spots station is run well, but 1150 is one that isn't run well and the quality of product over the air reflects that. Why "promote" that? I didn't drag 1150 down as I don't work there. If I did work there or thousands of other people worked there I believe that product would sound so much better.

Oh please, this is the same Henery t that beat a felony rap on car titles losing his sweet tv gig?
The station sounds like crap

All old and tired news, that keeps coming up time after time, when a new sports post, is aired. If you people can't be more creative that to re-hash the same sorry Henry T stories, then, I'm wasting my time. Again I say what does this have to do with KQBT flipping, absolutely nothing, this much venom belongs elsewhere.

OK - why in the heck are we spending so much time talking about Henry T - when he's clearly a non-factor? Hasn't been a factor in Abq in more than a decade. He is a coulda, woulda, shoulda. End of story.

Now, the real question is: can they pull $$ away from kkob / knml to make a viable run?

KQBT might make a dent in them sports wise, but I don't think they will knock Citidel off for maybe 4 books.

Depends how they bring it The Beave. If they come strong, make a serious splash, they could take 610 in a heartbeat. The Cowboys helps a long way, work in much New Mexico sports with the Cowboys and you might just have a winner. It isnt' like 610 is setting the world afire. 610 does have a head start, but their local hosts don't seem well liked, ESPN radio network isn't as entertaining as once believed. Jim Rome's show is probably the best show they have on the airwaves. I think 610 is ripe for the pickings.
