kraddick dead of heart attack

Starting to get confirmation tweets. Fox 4 is running with it and Kidd's producer says a statement is forthcoming. Doesn't sound good.

I Heart Radio's Facebook page has confirmed this. What a tragic story to hear about. Now, the question is what will his affiliates do now, and who takes over his role on Dish Nation.

Kid was an "all right guy" to work with and I am deeply saddened by his early demise.
53 years is way too early to check out. According to various sources, he had done a closing bit just last week about "what he would say to each member of the show in his final moments on earth" now that is irony...

It just goes to show how finite your time on the planet is, and how you never know when it's your last day.
Rest in Peace Kid
Rest in Peace...

No, now is the time we mourn a great man and father. What happens with the radio stuff is secondary and can wait.

What Marc just said....

Unbelievable news...I can't remember the last time I've been this affected by a celebrity/public figure's death. I'm only 25 so Kidd Kraddick in the Morning has been around for as long as I can remember hearing the radio.

It's been an absolutely fantastic ride seeing his show start in DFW and growing across the country and now on TV over the years.

Not sure about the heart attack. Rumors close to the situation over in New Orleans is saying that he had some kind of brain aneurism.

But nothing official has come out.

This is sad news indeed, and there's a lesson in here. Never do a "goodbye" bit like this.

In college I took a journalism class. When we got to the part of the course on obituary writing, our instructor told us he used to have his students write there own obit. That practice ended when a student died not long after writing his own obit.

For me, it was John Candy.

I came in late to Kidd. First discovered him during dish nation. But I always thought, if Scott and Todd ever get taken off the air, I could settle quite easily into the kidd kraddick vibe.
RIP.

Sad news. I remember first hearing Kidd Kraddick on KEGL back in '85 as a freshman in high school. That year started my passion for radio.
