As far as Delgornio goes, he's never ever coming back to Tulsa. Like him or not he burned bridges with every station group in town with the exception of Renda, Shamrock, and the KXOJ group. Not to mention all the bad blood between him and the city, his "Creek Casino" incident, etc.... I hope he can have a succesful career in Nashville.
I'd like to ask John, how KRMG is getting by with the absence of Richard Dowdell and the departure of Denise Brewer? I'm not sure if you tape your newscasts or are live 24/7, but it seems like everyone over there is pulling some really long hours if you're going live 24/7. But, it's part of the business I guess.
On a side note, if you think KRMG or anyone else is having a tough time, check out KFAQ. I think their news department is down to about 4 or 5 people covering news 7 days a week. Local newscasts at that station are going 2 minutes tops and are sometimes even shorter. He may be voice tracking, but I'm hearing Brian Gann's voice all the way till midnight some nights.
I wish KRMG would discontinue using AP Network News and go back to using ABC News fulltime. The quality is so much higher with ABC plus the network news reports are so much better. But maybe there's a reason corporate or otherwise KRMG is stuck with AP.
I'm also curious as to why KRMG has never gone live with Rush, Hannity, and Savage? I think 2.5 hours of Neal Boortz is enough, even though he's a fellow Cox employee. Plus, it would give listeners a chance to follow the programs live.
Just an opinion from a frequent listener and colleague.
