Today started top 500 at 5pm on kroq
So what does that say about recent music?
The awful song rankings are yet further proof that Kevin Weatherly needs to be shown the door.
He is old and clueless.
The three stations that Kevin programs together account for 12% of the total market billings of LA.
There is no way KROQ bills anywhere near the $50 million+ is used to bill during its heyday.
KROQ is getting its butt kicked, and KAMP isn't doing so well, either. Entercom definitely should bring new programming talent on board for both stations.
If KROQ continues on its current trajectory, I guarantee you that station will be billing substantially less money two years from now compared to today.
If KROQ wants to retake the ratings it once had they need to play new songs ONLY!

Amp is doing more than twice the revenue it had in 2008-2009.
Amp didn't exist in 2008. Obviously a good deal of that billing is from KLSX.
Same station, different call letters, same owner, different format. Same revenue stream.
I used to be a fan of KROQ but find myself listening less and less. Their music seems too old and loud, almost like KLOS. I now prefer KYSR, whose music seems more current and melodic.
Looks like Weatherly was kicked upstairs:

What a complete waste of time. Music appreciation is subjective. I notice the list has the diversity of a bag of marshmallows, ow wait a minute there is Bob Marley at 41!
