KSJO sold!!!!

sound like Principle is owning 92.3 FM because they're playing a bunch of Alt bands. CC would play the same music all the time like Greenday, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park .... Principle is playing a different alt format with wider range of music. What will Principle decide to do with the station? a new format in the way? can someone give me an answer?

Principle specializes in selling time blocks to ethnic broadcasters, which may or may not be in English. One example is the Indian show on KLOK which is bilingual. I expect similar with 92.3.

I'm sure this is just stunting 'till they can get things set up to do whatever they're going to do. Some of the best stunting I've ever heard (just my opinion, of course). If you have a chance, give it a listen. The PAD isn't working tho. Too bad. I pretty much knew every song on the old KSJO, but I'm wondering who a few of the artists are here.

Dave B.

Radio online says Universal Media Access, a subsidiary of Principle Broadcasting has taken over KSJO, so they might not be like Principle Broadcasting's other stations, so "save alternative" might stay

It surely is an amazing playlist. I've heard bands like My Bloody Valentine, Peter Murphy, The Stone Roses, deep Morrissey cuts and other classic alternative that barely gets the light of day nowadays along with awesome newer cutting edge music like Klaxons, Paper Tongues, Mark Ronson, Cut Copy, etc. that would almost never make it on any station's playlist barely.

If you're looking for songs you heard, go here:

Does anyone know if the "new" station is streaming online somewhere?

Wow...music sounds great on KSJO! Just need to add some jocks, back annouce what they're playing..maybe add a KFOG-style 10 at 10 for 80s/90s alternative/modern rock and you'd have a nice station. Probably just a pipe dream....meanwhile, it's nice while we have it.

Maybe Principal will read this thread and keep it like it is. I doubt they will but it would be nice.

I sent an email to pinciple to try to find out what the new format would be, and they sent me this link:

savealternative.com

I think there could be an LMA to Entercom, on the way. Remember Entercom did get the Channel 92.3 intellectual property...

KSJO is Finished! This is just a placeholder format! The End Is NEAR! Bye Bye Baby! Too Bad, It Really Is A Great Sound Coming Out Of Our Car And Home Speakers! Shame Shame. The Big Five Radio Companies Have Done It Again, By Eliminating Another Commerical Radio Voice From The Bay Area Radio Landscape To Minimize Competetion To Their Own Clusters! Don't Any Of You Get It Yet? 93.3, 610, 1260, 1170, 92.3, How Many More Times Do You Have To Be Hit Over The Head Until You Do Get It? Well?
