They are owned by Salem communications.Yes there are several stations around the country owned by Salem. WFIL in Philadelphia ,and KRLA in Los Angeles for example.
Sorry to hear you liked what you heard, but to each his own.

Salem sibling KNTH 1070 in Houston is pretty much a clone of KSKY.

Yep...funny thing is the audio on KNTH is 3-4 seconds ahead of KSKY! Kinda makes me wonder.....

Their delay is not on or they are using a different transponder.

This was on a sat fed show.....you would think they are on the same bird??!
But all the audio has been about 3 or so secs behind.....regardless of when I have listened to them (I have not been able to catch both when a non network show is on...or on the weekends)

The have A "SNN" feed and they use a"starguide" for some other programs. It also depends on the ground locations and transponders for receiving the signals. For example, Directv in DFW sends the feed from local stations to a sat.which is down loaded to a receiver in Colorado which sends it back up to a sat, then to your home. So if you watched a local station with your home antenna and compare you will see a few seconds difference. Same holds true for Salem programming.

"I Am a Loser" ... KSKY

And KSKY is about as popular with listeners as Karl Rove is among Democrats right now.

.7 in the latest trends with billboards everywhere.

FYI, don't confuse Salem's KRLA (the former KIEV in Glendale)with the legendary top-40 and oldies station KRLA, Pasadena, CA.

Different frequencies too -- The 1110 men v. the Stodgy 870-year-old men.

Sorry, I am sensitive about this.

You know, with all this "Salem bashing" going on I just have to wonder...how does a company that NOBODY seemingly likes end up becoming the 6th largest broadcast company in the country and the ONLY one that has consistently shown revenue growth in the double-digit range? None of the others can claim that distinction. It seems to me Salem may be doing something right and if they are, why are more group owners not doing the same and (here's the important part) GETTING BETTER REVENUE STATISTICS? Sure, Salem's has it's up's and down's but so does everyone else. I'm just curious...

No mystery really

The majority of the Salem stations are not news/talk like KSKY.

Most are block programmed with preachers -- more than 30 percent of their revenue is derived from such programming.

Those stations are cash cows.

The lesson: If your goal is simply to make money, put preachers on the air. Most love to be heard ... or seen.

Infomercials and Preachers purchasing time. KWRD on the weekend has a huge load of infomercials, plus a Mortgage show paid for by the Mortgage company and alate night sat talk show paid by a local church. That's S.O.P. for Salem and it doesn't hurt to have your own network as well.

True. Look what KSKY was for 41 years before conservative talk came along: PREACHERS paying for airtime.

Hey, nobody likes Susquehanna, either, but they seem to do OK regardless.
