KSL... please learn how to ID

However, when stations are simulcasting I believe you could do the following "KSL AM and FM Salt Lake City" of they were both licensed there, but they aren't.. so you can't!!
Remember the huge threads we've had here in the past on what a legal ID is?At the risk of starting another one, albeit kind of hidden away here on the SLCboard, many posters (including Fybush, IIRC) pointed to the part-something FCCregs which state each station must be IDed separately and that "AM" is notpart of an AM station's call letters--so I tend to believe that the going the"AM & FM" route between calls and same-city COL is an illegal legal ID.Your "should be" example was correctly legal, or you could reverse the order--I don't think there's anything in the regs stating the AM side ID must be donefirst. And of course the FM would no doubt be COLed as "Midvale/Salt Lake City"which is fine and dandy (and legal) since the COL is named first.

Re: KSL... has now learned to ID!

We have breaking news just in to our newsroom...KSL's TOH ID is now legal!I just heard the 11:00pm MT ID tonight (Thursday) and they haveupdated their TOH track with a new drop by their image voice:"...this is KSL-FM Midvale, KSL Salt Lake City."I did sent a note to "radio programming" via the contact form onthe KSL website earlier in the week regarding this, and now it's fixed.Do you think a bunch of radio/TV geeks here on Radio-Info (I mentionedthe board in my message) in effect convinced KSL to fix their error?

No. That liner isn't new. It's one that's in rotation and has been for quite some time. If that's the ONLY one they're using, that a good thing. Otherwise it's business as usual.
