I am listening (or trying to) KSPN 710 in Irvine, California at 9:34 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2005. Interference is the worst I have ever heard. I can barely hear KSPN's broadcast. I can clearly hear a Spanish language broadcast in the background every night soon after sunset. Irvine is well within the nighttime primary service area of KSPN. The only Spanish language station I know of on 710 is KMIA in Black Canyon City, Arizona. They are 3.9 kW with the primary lobe directed SSW. Is it possible they are bleeding into the broadcast in southern California? Is there a Mexican station on 710 that could be causing this interference?
There was some talk some time ago of KSPN increasing their nighttime power and relocating their transmitter to Irwindale. Why was their application dropped?
